Hey,

Impressive army. Really like all the little conversions and the option for mounting characters on different beasts. Where did you get that Dragon from?

Shame about the flash on the photos as it makes the photos too bright...can't really see the bases atall. That Cauldron of Blood is awesome.

For the BSB how hard was it scraping off the phoenix detail that comes on it? How did you acquire the Fury wings for your Harpies?

Good work,
Chris

I have been working with the photos non-stop for a couple of days trying to get the light right and without the flash the color doesn't show through enough, even with the ample lighting I have. As for scraping off the BSB detail.. it wasn't way too bad, but after I got enough of it off with an x-acto knife I went back and put a thin layer of greenstuff over it to smooth it out.

The dragon is a Todd Mcfarlane dragon with a good bit of resculpting and reshaping work, and a head swap.

As for the fury wings, I just ended up buying one of those old 10 boxes of furies off of ebay for a steal of 20USD.

I am going to work on the brightness in the pictures a little more and see what I can come up with. I thought I had it perfect but it must just be the angle of my laptop screen.

Wow! Awsome work! Really love your choice in coulours. Also great work on all of the characters! Fantastic!

Really nice army you got there! I can see why you've won those best-painted army prizes! In only got one downside: some unis or IMO a bit too grey, the corsairs and warriors come to mind.... but that's just a little thing in the grand total,

Very nice indeed. Your painting technique is unusual, but it works. Great job.

LOVE the army. The CoB is sweet, as is the dragon
The only criticism though, you seem to have good modelling and painting skills, but the basing looks very basic, and imo, slightly detracts from the overall effect.

What everyone else said is spot on, great army, great conversions. I love the black dragon, it is better than any dragon that GW throws out there.

I have only one question for you, what exactly do you do with 21 Black Guard?

That's a nice mix of old and new models. It's good enough to be tabletop quality with some nice conversions (chariot, CoB) but also has some not so good conversions (mini maticore, pole-dancing dragon, no idea what happened to those poor Crossbowmen's heads). It wasn't until I saw the star fish on the Hydra base that I figured out they were supposed to be on a beach. Is the basing done because it's a bit plain (looks unfinished). It looks rerady to field though!

Its strange, the muted/faded colors really remind me of the early 90's 'Eavy Metal style.

Excellent job and a unique basing. The only thing I could add would be that you might want to try to add pupils to the eyes. Assuming that your elves are the kind that have pupils and not glowing eyes without visible pupils.

Also, how is the manticore balanced ? It looks like its ready to fall over nose-first at any time.

That is a sweet COB. Awesome idea and unusual but very nice painting style.

I really like your army :)
Your CoB and dragon looks particualrly good ^^, however, i find the "supporting" (atleast that's what it looks like <.<) beam on the dragon to be annoying >.<.

Your manticore also looks a bit too small for such an fercious monster.

overall good painting standrad tho :)

Hey there isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said but I'll go for it anyway.

The army is really impressive, I love how you made the Blaack Guard look contemporary, they really suit the army and fit in well.

What model is the male sorceror? It looks great and would fit in for what I'm looking for for my army.

My favourites are the beasts though, the Dragon and Manticore are fantastic.

Well done.

You've got to love that CoB.
Really cool theme for a darkelf army and a nice paintjob on them too.
May I ask where you got that dragon from?
I also like your manticore conversion.
What type of wings did you use for the manti and harpie conversions?
