Going for a well balanced list to prevent cries of cheese.

Post by Endra divini »

Greetings everyone.

As we all know the druchii list has some very nasty and cheesy setups.
I for one am sick of our list be bashed by the less powerful gamers so I've made a 2k list that I hope will prevent the whiners and require skill and generalship to win (just like 6th ed).

Here's what I have come up with.

General: Dreadlord (In Black Guard) 241pts
-Black Pendant (Yes it is expensive but I just prefer it over the regen armour)
-Armour of Darkness
-Great Weapon

Hero: Sorceress (In sacrifical spear unit) 160pts
-Lv 2
-Sacrifical Dagger

Hero: Sorceress (In RXB 1) 185pts
-Lv 2
-2 Scrolls

Core: 25 Spearmen 215pts
-Command
-Shields
-War banner

Core: 14 Sacrifical Spearmen 84pts

Core: 2x12 RXB 250pts
-Muso's

Core: 5 Harpies 55pts

Special: 19 Black Guard 297pts
-Command
-Null Talisman

Special: 6 Cold One Knights 217pts
-Command
-Cold Blood Banner

Special: 5 Shades 90pts
-GW

Rare: 2 Reapers 200pts

Total pts: 1994
Total models: 105

What do you think? Is it fairly balanced or will it still here cries of cheese?

cheers.

No hydra, dragon, COC, who are the toughest armours we can get - only PoK remains as a hard nutshell to crack.

A single magic weapon, on a footed model.
Medium magic offense, good magic defense but no RoH.
Good shooting, nothing excessive. No screen for the BG.
Modest agility with only 5 harpies & 5 shades, no DR.
Good fighting capability with one SCR unit, two ACR units, but nothing exceptional.

I see no reason for yelling against you.
With this modest agility, you'll have struggle to win indeed.

Yes, this list is distinctly uncheesy. Good luck with it :)

Black Pendant could be very fun on the dreadlord.

Yes, definitely distinctly uncheesy - but what does the Black Pendant do?

4+ ward save. If you pass the save in close combat then your opponent takes a wound with no armour save allowed. 50% chance I get blapped, 50% chance you get blapped. Kinda fun :P

Definitely no cheese, no ASF banner on BG, no DR, no Dragon, no Hydra, no POK, no Ring, no unkillable BSB, no cauldron, and only one unit of harpies. Good Luck, though it's still not a bad list.

It is a little amusing to see people that think this is not cheesy. I calculated your army towards the RT WPS Comp, that we VERY commonly uses in tournaments in Sweden.

Your score was 12. You usually must have a score betwen 15 and 25 to be allowed in the tournaments here

You can pass if you let go of the scroll caddy and run the other sorc with Sacrifical dagger and 1 scroll maybe?

It doesn't look cheesy to me personaly but you couldn't play that list in regular Sweden tournaments. Thats how ''cheesy'' It is.

I'm glad I don't play in Sweden I wouldn't want some group with an axe to grind forcing there interpetation of what we all should play onto us.

I know, it's sad :?
Afterall it is just a group of people and THEIR opinion on how you shall play. Kind of kills the fun sometimes...
