Now in the 8th I was thinking about using a L2 sorceress on a dark steed with the Focus Familiar & the Ruby ring of ruin.
She would probably be accompanied by another L1 or L2 with the Seal of Ghrond for defense.
She can hide all day and throw fireballs along with any spells she has.
Opinions?

Focus Familiar & Ruby ring of ruin
No amount of planning can ever replace dumb luck.
I think generally the tome of furion is more useful than the ruby ring, as the getting off bound spells is now quite silly. Roll 1 dice and half the time it wont go off or will be easily dispelled. As your opponent probably has +4 for defence but if you roll a 1 or 2 it wont go off i believe.
i think you may as well go for a bigger spell

I don't really think that is using both items to their best potential. I would give the focus familiar to a level 4 or something that is more vaulable than a level one. I give it to my level 4 on DP.
The ruby ring, IMO, is not worth it at all. Sure its not very expensive, but its a bound spell. And now that we have to roll for bound spells, its not worth it. Just get a level 1 with lore of fire and give it the sig spell: fireball.

Ah, just looked it up. You are correct. Don't know what I was thinking.
