I concur with the above.
If you have the following bits even better.
Warrior legs- Very useful for the driver.
Corsair bits - give you more head options and a torso with Dragon Cloak which looks superb on the noble in the chariot.
With all these bits and the previous post you should get what I call a smooth conversion ( one that doesn't look bodged) very easily. Don't forget to green over some of the HE markings though.

I used a combination of the methods mentioned so far. My chariot uses our most recent chariot's chassis, the new Cold One models, and a mix of Corsair, warrior and Cold One Knight bitz and described by ungorlucky.
I'm very pleased with it, it fits right in with the existing Cold One Knight models and the warrior/corsair bitz tie it into the current miniature range beautifully.

If you are looking for the old OOP model you can find it on e-bay.
But be patient they are rare and will cost you $40+. Make a search list worldwide and be prepared to pay the price becuase they are so rare.
I just got two of them there, one without the cold ones that was cheaper.
I haven't recieved them yet as the 1st one is coming from the UK and the 2nd one I just won yesterday. When I do get them I plan to convert the old cold ones with the new models so I am buying a second box set of CoK's that will yield me 1 additional knight as well. This is an expensive project but I think it will turn out great in the end. The old chariot and crews really look good but the old cold ones look like the Flintstones. The new cold ones remind me of the Godzilla movie with Mathew Brodrick. But they are cool (or should I say cold).
I looked at the HE models for converting but in the end they would not look Druchii they would still look like HE chariots and besides we hate them don't we?

No amount of planning can ever replace dumb luck.

Actually you will be surprised how good the High Elf Chariot looks once modified.
In my case I chose the High Elf Chariot over the Tomb Kings Chariot because I wanted to maintain the Elf Sleekness. I modified it with scythed wheels and various other blade bits from the Dark Elder Infantry Set. Replaced the crew with proper Dark Elves using torsos and bits from the Corsairs,COK and Warrior sets.
I am very happy with the overall result and if I had a digital camera I would be very happy to show it off on this site.
I have been complimented on my model and one guy thought it was a new release!
Incidentally in my case I removed the rear parts of the saddles from the Cold Ones and greened a new leather cover over the saddle to disguise the saddle details.
I conclude that it is a very easy conversion to do for someone with basic modelling skills, with a decent bitz box and a smattering of imagination.
No need to pay over the odds for an obsolete model.

It is not obsolete! It is out of production (OOP) That makes it rare.
You are right about the cost there is no need to pay more if you want to convert from other models but just how much did you pay for the HE charriot the crew and the cold ones in the end?
This was only a suggestion and it is up to the individual as to what he wants and what he wants to spend.
The original post was..
Does anyone know what happened with this model?
They don't have it in the store and I can find/order it from the site....

That's what I did as well, just with the old (5th Ed.) Cold Ones.
The 6th Ed. plastic COs are soooo ugly.
Bye
Thanee
there's always the gamezone alternative, but they might look a bit weird if you have GW cold ones
