Roaming BSB

Ive had this idea where you would put a master BSB on a Dark Steed and just have him march around the battlefield behind other units to give them his 12" BSB bubble. Is this a good idea?

Potentially viable as long as you protect him adequately from things that could snipe him -- Pendant of Khaeleth is a good option as is Cloak of Hag Graef/Dawnstone combo.

That being said, unless you have a cavalry-based army, a BSB on foot can normally keep up and project his bubble where needed.

Ok thanks. But wait a second. I thought a BSB couldnt take magic items as said in my Dark Elves rulebook. Can they take magic items?

Reread your rulebook carefully. He can take magic items so long as his banner is not magical. If he's carrying a magic banner, he is limited to mundane equipment.

I'm more worried about the direct magic spells as they are not limited to line of sight.
