I like them more than GWs. I don't like how GWs are all jumping, I think they look silly ranked up.

I have enough old metals ones anway, but if I ever to buy more, AoW is definitely getting my money.

How do Avatars of War models typically compare to GW models in terms of scale? Do the Dwarfs look natural when side-by-side? I'm very interested in these Witch Elves but want to make sure they don't look strange next to my other Dark Elf troops.

Not sure about the dwarfs but I've got a number of characters, dark elf, vampire and they are the same scale. They are in the same style as GW too so you can't even tell its a different manufacturer.

I have enough old ones for about a 30 man unit but I think i'll be getting these 20 vestals + a few other things from AoW. Be fun to play some MSU army lists. Their shipping is very reasonable as well.

Have to agree, scale is identical. I have most of the AoW character models; OnG, Dwarfs and elves can sit in a unit of GW models and look completely at home there.

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I might have to go with these new Witch Elves. They look just as good from what I can tell, are roughly half the cost per model. If they are the same scale as you say, I don't think you can beat that!

**Actually just saw they have pre-order deal where you get THIRTY of those Witch Elves for only 35 Euros. That's would cost 3 times as much with the GW models.

Yeah, they added that today due to customer demand... when was last time GW did something due to customer demand?

I actually ordered mine yesterday as well. 30 Witches @ that price can't be beat. I was going to use these as daemonettes, but at this price they may just replace the last ed. Witches I have.

Would have ordered the thirty yesterday if it was there. But I guess I will stick with the exclusive mini. Only needed twenty WE anyway.

Can't argue with them for the price, really nice looking models and a steal for what it'll cost compared to the GW ones. I have 30 Raging Heroes ones as well as 20 of the GW ones, do I NEED more Witch Elves?

ABSOLUTELY!

Looks good, all that nudity. So un-childisch.
Lady might ask me some questions, but hey. Resins are forever..

So do these models fuel the new rumours??

- GW is stopping warhammer fantasy.
- GW is being taken over.
- Fantasy players are switching to an other fantasy game.

No
No
and No

There are plenty of miniatures manufacturers to choose from, but there's only one Warhammer. I for one have no interest in Warmahordes and the other games are just not played by anyone.

I'll likely get some to blend in and bulk up my GW ones. But they will likely be in the back ranks. I agree with what some other poster said, they have a blow-up doll look. :P But the poses are dynamic and will make the over all unit look a lot more varied.

Update on the Vestals. Email I just received.

I would like to inform you about the status of the injection moulds tooling and production of the Vestals of Nemesis for Dark Elves.

Id' like apologize first, because we have not been able to start shipping the Vestals in April as we forecast when creating the preorder.

We are waiting now to receive an estimated date of production start date from the toolmaker. As soon I know it (hopefully very soon) I'll let you know.

We keep you updated and I you have any question, here I am.

I was just wondering if these actually got out. Guess not.

Yeah, same e-mail for me as well. Was hoping to get them put together this summer... now it's looking like they won't be tabletop ready till the next if I'm lucky.

Have been waiting six months for these incompetents to ship.
If by some chance they do actually work out how to produce these models I think its going to be nearly a year later before they arrive.

Sadly the Queen Nagra model looks stunning from their picture but I'll wait for concrete evidence that it has shipped before even contemplating an order.

Nothing official, but my FLGS changed the preorder to be in shop on Oct 25th. Either they got an email from AoW or they just change the date to near future to keep customers satisfied..

According to the AoW website http://www.avatars-of-war.com/eng/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1010&start=75 they finally arrived at the HQ yesterday ..

I read they have some special offers (like free shipping) because of their 5th anniversary ..

So all in all: good news!!

Great news if I hadn't already paid for the shipping when I ordered them back in March...
