25 old GW witches + 20 AoW ones + 10 Raging Heroes is all I'll ever need. Three command groups in case I want to split them, or run dual cauldron list with lots and lots of witch elves!

I'm only interested in GW witch box to build sisters of slaughter.

@Dalamar:

YOu could probably get a few spare shields or buy shield packs and put some spar armored heads or executioner heads on the Witch Elf/Witch Elf Substitute units to make more.

You should be able to get the ships from a bitshop.
If I ever make the sisters I'm going to do just that and convert them from Raging Heroes sci-fi Vestals.

Just a word of warning regarding orders direct from AoW. They are infamous for being late. A friend pre-ordered a box of the Corrputers of the Apocalypse and was suppose to be shipped in two months, took nine. I will be getting some, but once they get to retail. Not before.

Just ordered mine too. Can't go wrong with 30 witch elves for £32. I've always bought Gw before but I can't justify the price of the Gw witch elves!

That's what has put me off getting any myself , the fact they are made from PVC .

I have enough trouble getting a decent bond with the plastic that GW uses , tried all the glues including the weld type but no avail

Bought 10 of their Harpies. Took hours to glue 5 of them. I have never put the other 5 together. :( I really like these Witches. I wish they were made of plastic.

I've never had the pleasure of working with PVC before... does scoring the joins help any?

I just had so much trouble making them want to stick period. Two things help. Wash each piece really well with soapy warm (not hot) water. The releasing agent apparently interferes. Secondly I don't know if they sell Gorilla Glue in Canada but that brand was recommended on the internet for gluing resins. I love Avatar's look on their models with maybe the exception of the witches who like they are about to.... (censored)

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into Gorilla Glue (I have seen some types here in stores, so I'm sure I can get what I need).... I think I've seen it at Walmart actually.

I have 30 of these on the eventual way as well. What can I say... I just couldn't resist the deal! At least we'll be able to share in our adhesive related agony!

These models look pretty damn sweet and well priced. From reading the thread is sounds like there are a few problems with the assembly and the type of glue to use - can anyone elaborate further their success /failure with this? Does AoW recommend a particular brand/s for their assembly. I would really like to get some of these but if the assembly is going to cause issues might give them a miss.

I have use standard Tarzans Grip Super Glue for all my plastic models for years (AUS) and never had any problems - every time I have used a different brand of super glue I have always had issues with the glue/time it takes to grip.

Just wash the pieces real well and allow to dry. That will help a lot. I only had trouble with the Harpy wings. The joins were small. Not well notched.

I ordered the 30 box deal and the metal Shades/Assassin chicks.

They dispatched the heroes first and I opened the box to find 1 Dark Elf and 1 Lizardman hero, what rookies!

The posting took ages too, shouldn't be the case since we both EU!

Hmm,ordering might be a bigger turn off for me but I tend to be patient.

As for glueing, try pinning it first. That might help.

I've never had too much trouble gluing plastic minis, although fine cast takes some time getting used to. Its metal spiky bits that get to you (I don't think my hands have forgiven me for last editions pewter hydra).

When I spoke to them, delivery was due in April. So a few weeks yet.
Might be even later if you didn't buy them in the first couple of days.
