The anatomy of a man and a woman is fairly different as well, but that's never stopped them

In the WD there in mention that elves get to reroll 1's to wound in they are within a wood. Also that wood elves get a free forest. Which sounds pretty cool

Free forest has been around for WEs for awhile, just to try and give an excuse for the battle in the first place.
Reroll to wound is an interesting one however.

Re: WE having access to Dark Magic. This, from an interview with Mat Ward in the latest White Dwarf:

"Dark Magic comes into the courts of Athel Loren towards the end of the Season of Vengeance.... Initially it leads to some profound problems, especially for Ariel, but in time it becomes a real boon to the Wood Elves. Whereas the High Elves fear the consequences of dabbling with the forces that exist within Dark Magic, and the Dark Elves are too arrogant to believe any consequences could ever effect [sic] them, the Wood Elves have a slightly more pragmatic view.... The Wood Elves act expecting consequences, and so all aspects of magic are taught in their courts, and often under the tutelage of Ariel herself. This prevents the overweening arrogance of their cousins, and frees them to understand both dark and light."

Wouldn't expect a full set of stats until someone gets hold of the army book, this weekend. Even the pre-orders don't ship until then.
There are a few stats kicking around, but really I think you will have to wait a couple of days.

Well some more release rumours, compiled from across the interweb;

WOOD ELVES SISTERS OF THE THORN / WILD RIDERS - Stag riders warriors male / Stag riding female spell casting unit - Spells are anraheirs curse, shield of thorns
Stags have 1 S4 attack. Sisters have S3 with poisoned AP spears, 4++?
Sister may also be special and a little more expensive than Warlocks.

WOOD ELVES ETERNAL GUARD / WILDWOOD RANGERS - Pictures already seen

WOOD ELVES GUARDIANS OF THE DEEPWOOD - Bundle pack of 3 treeman / 36 Dryads ?

Not sure how accurate the information is, but thought you might like to know about the new WE Warlock wantabe's :)

And possible info on Lore attributes;

Attribute of high magic gives one additional wound to the caster or unit he is in.
Attribute of dark magic is: place a counter for each successful hex-spell on an enemy unit. Unit will receive 1d3 additional hits per counter when hit by a subsequent damage-spell.

Dryads S3, Treekin S4.

oooh i quite like that Dark Magic one, shame it only has 2 hexes but still. if that stays in the entire game that can rly come back and bite a unit in the rear.
but that High Magic one scares me, like... we looking at normal elves with 2-3-4 wounds? rly curious about all of this.

that Warlock Wanabes are also scary to hear. Shield of Thorns is a RIP spell and the curse can completly shut down a units movement (rly scares the crap out of me)
We'll see how it ends up :D

Wow!
Stag riders are nice!

And female riders seem lethal.

I like the Axemen (Eternal guard?)

I'm not too sold on the leather loincloth all infantry is showing.

OOooh nice find!

I take it the Stags are regular cavalry?

And are there any rumours to what the girly-riders are? Some sort of Warlock (spellcaster) type thing?

Really like all of these new models :D

T.D, see my post a couple from yesterday on the girly riders.

Stag riding female spell casting unit - Spells are anraheirs curse, shield of thorns
Stags have 1 S4 attack. Sisters have S3 with poisoned AP spears, 4++?
Sister may also be special and a little more expensive than Warlocks.

In particular, Sister Stats
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l257/ ... 3078f8.jpg

Very similar to warlocks,
unit is a Lvl2, specify which model is caster; 4++; fast cav M9.
Small differences:
- different spells (Sh of Thorn & Curse of Anraheir); sisters don't get the 4++ against miscast
- instead of 2 S4 poison, they get thrown weapon BS5 S3AP poison. However, mounts are S4.
- Special unit. Can get full command plus 50pts banner.
- one more pt per model.
- forest stalker, of course.

Interesting to see that Special is confirmed rather than Rare. The full command and magic banner is a nice boost for them though.
Don't think we will likely be seeing 4 units of them, but an all mounted WE list seems to be becoming a whole lot more viable.

The wildwood rangers rule giving them +1 attack when in base to base with anything causing fear and terror is an interesting one too. 2xS5 attacks at I5 will cause a problem to a few units, although the return attacks with T3 6+, is not going to be pretty.

I disagree but everyone has different tastes. :) I prefer str 6 killing blow attacks to str 5 with the possibility of two attacks each. The new rangers are more akin to Swordmasters. Looks like Wood Elves will still struggle at the 1+ armor units. As beefy as they made the model you would think it would have White Lion Strength.

Not sure if I am jealous of the new Sisters or not. I am certainly going to be using one of those models as my Mounted Sorceress for a conversion. :) They don't have our weakness to Slaneesh but likely don't have as good as a ward since ours protects against miscasts. Moreover, they have no damaging spell per se. Just a hex/augment that can possibly cause damage. Being able to shoot at BS 5 with Javelins is not bad though. Pretty much always going to hit. I suppose we might see some Sisters Buses especially since they come out of special points.

I think Rangers got the short stick being only str 3 and not being able to take the Razor Standard.
