Thanks alot guys! Painting and converting is so much fun at the moment (and I guess that won`t change really ;)). Tonight I`m in the process of doing my first water effects on a Troll Unit filler. I should be able to post it soon, hope it turns out well :).

Very excellent work sir! May I ask how it was to work with the gamezone pegasus and the sorcerer model? I am seriously considering purchasing a few since I really dislike our morathi model.

Thank you! :D

The gamezone pegasus is easy to work with, you might need some greenstuff to fill in the gaps but thats about it. The model does not come with a base (I think no Gamezone model does actually) and its not that easy to balance the model like that. I recommend putting the horse on some sort of pillar, stand, hill or tree to balance it. All in all its a good model tho. Only downside for me is thats its metal because I don`t like painting metal all that much. But thats a personal preference :)

Thanks for the quick reply! I just finished my last 8 month project in the form of 14,000 pts of painted WoC. I am just now starting on my Druchii army which will be my next large project!

Woah 14k WoC in 8 months is very fast, and LOADS of models I guess. Good luck with your Druchii project, don`t forget to post pics :)

Yup, it was grueling but ultimately fulfilling work! Here is a close up video of everything: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDU5Omr ... tz5pD6vc9w

I will be posting up my first test minis hopefully this weekend.

Update Time :D
It took me quite a while doing my O&G unit filler (counts as 4 trolls) because I never had worked with water effects before. The bits I used are head, hands and weapon from the Troll box and a small poison dart frog from the LM Ripperdactly box. The Troll torso and seaweed “cones” are built from scratch using Green Stuff. I hope you like the water effect :)

@Ruby Thanks! I used normal sand to get the riverbank, cork to build the stones and vallejo transparent water texture. I painted the water effect (just lighter at the riverbank and darker in the middle) and then put the watter texture on top of it. In the end I highlighted the "waves and ripples" with very watered down white.

Absolutely brilliant, I love the troll, the water, everything! The water looks very realistic. The whole unit looks like Mama Troll going for a walk with ger offspring. :D

Thanks alot for all the awesome replies, means alot to me! :D
I wasn`t sure about the water effect because it really took quite some time and effort, glad you like it. Next update will be a Dark Rider unit btw where I built another little unit filler. Should be done next week.

Back again with another update. This time I thought I do another Dark Rider unit but I didn`t just wanna paint another five of those buggers so I thought I put a Unit Filler in to show a bit more action ;). I used some green stuff to build the wall and the little tree and put some puddles of rainwater on the ground aswell. I thought if the Dark Rider is already jumping over a wall like nothing, why not have him shoot with two Repeaters simultanously John Woo stye? I cut the left hand off of a Corsair (who normally use handbows) and put a Repeater in his hands. Hope you like it :)

Great unit fillers both troll and dark rider.

I've made corsairs champion with 2 hand bows, but this dark riders looks way better, It's so dynamic I would like to see diorama where he is killing 2 high elves from those shots. ;)

Woah! I missed the troll update! Completely awesome. Really fantastic unit!

I like the dark riders too. I always thought the cavalry jumping over things was cool and you have really done it nicely.

Well done.
That's silly! Playin with little statues, pretendin' they're fightin'! Why not just round up a bunch of real goblins and lettem' whack it out?
