KOW army
So I decided to buy and paint a new army for Kings of War.
For the most part I am going to try and use non GW models.
So the first box from Raging Heroes arrived yesterday.
Slave standard bearer. Manticore rider and 12 forest shamblers.
Hoping to use these as a base to add with the kickstarter TGG models.

Re: KOW army
That looks like a great starts
If I were to buy a Mantic army, I might be tempted into undeads. But we'll see. I have so many minis left to paint I'm embarassed to show them.

I know how you feel.
Looking forward to watching this progress Amboadine.
Re: KOW army
Could you show them out of the plastic? It's hard to see...

Just tiding the flash up and will share a few more close up pictures.
Nice plastics and resin to work with so far.

Re: KOW army
I bought a box of Tree Warriors as well for my GFs army. They were easy to put together and super easy to paint. I may order more!

Re: KOW army
They look superb. Will you be greenstuffing the joints or leaving it as is? I think both options would work, it just depends on what look you're going for.
Count them:

Painted in 2014: 600
Painted in 2015: 854

The green stuff will be coming out at the weekend. Will see how it goes on a couple first.

So unfortunately I have nothing to report this week due to work taking me out of the country. Will try and do a little more this week.

From Scibor miniatures. Resin and far cheaper than the GW one.

Re: KOW army
Nice model - I like the details on it's back, very nice.
Re: KOW army
Very nice idea indeed. Its great to see some other minis apart from GW, especially the Raging Heroes ones are ace and I am glad I found out about the company. Some models are just damn better than GWs.
Very looking forward when you put some paint on the models. Keep em coming

Re: KOW army
Well I was planning to get the first colours down today. Unfortunately real life happened, but I did manage to get the priming done, so will allow this to dry properly overnight ready for a good amount of painting brown tomorrow.

Re: KOW army
Started to get the first colours down then found to my disgust that most of my paints have dried out. Taking this opportunity to buy a full set of Vallejo paints instead of using GW ones.

most of my paints have dried out.
Try boiling some water and adding a small amount to the pots, then take a skewer and give them a real good stir. I find this normally does the trick to revivie them if they are not to far gone.

I managed to revive a few, enough to get the first colours down and do the first washes.
Will stick up a few more pictures this evening once I have done the first dry brush layers.
But to be honest some of the paints are many years old, it was about time I treated myself to some new one. Too many Christmas Amazon vouchers that needed spending my also have been the deciding factor

Re: KOW army
Well a little more progress. A few washes and dry brushes done.
Need to tidy the details and paint the non browns yet but I am not the quickest painter.
Fairly happy with the tone of the bark however. Never tried to paint a tree before.
The soft bark looks a little redder than reality in the photos. Probably the lighting to be honest but wasnt going for pro photos.
