Mordheim is a great game so I'd say you should start it. The warband you should get is a different story. A good idea is to try build a warband out of models you already have and get to learn the game that way.

Wow, you seem convinced already. Nice work Arquinsiel.
When you say "Start Mordheim" do you intend to but the game? It will give you enough to start mercenarys and Skaven, both being great for beginners.
The buildings arn't great but if you lack the skill nessecary to make your own (like me) they will do.

Oh, and yes you should buy Mordheim.

Ther're alright. You can do some nice stuff with what you get in the box. I quite like the buildings really, they have a certain charm.

I think the building are amusing. The graffeti on the side is funny, although i'm not clear on the apple thing on one of the buildings...

Buy the game! Its great! Everyone should play it!

I was in portsmouth not too long ago but sadly will not be returning for a while.

I am not sayng the buildings are rubbish, I am extremely grateful they exist. I just can't help resent them on seeing those towns in GW and on the net.

Just to clear one thing up, I have a strange cardboard bridge thing left over that dosn't appear to haev a pupse. All my buildings look exactly like the ones in the picture and I have followed the instructions to the letter. I have tried using it to link random buildings together but it dosn't want to fit. What is it for?

If it's the one I'm thinking of there are two buildings that have door frame things that it fits over.

Mordheim is a great game! It just seems weird that not so many people play it. You don't need a lot of miniatures, it really is a fun game and it doesn't even last long. Usually a game of Mordheim I play lasts for about 30 minutes. It fits nicely into times when you can't figure anything out.:)

And the "random encounter" rules make the game funnier than ever !lol! It is a real joy to play Mordheim. :D

You can play a game of mordheim in 30 minutes?
You cant be playing some decent games then...
Usualy games for me take about an hour and a half.

The rulebook you can just download (and then you have the latest at least, newest rules are not yet printed i think).

If you cannot find a box of witchhunters, I think a empire militiabox can make nice witchhunters (and WYSIWYG is easily followed with that box).
When my opponent agrees on a rule, I must have been wrong

Yeah, downloading the rules is best. See the topic stickied.

You should be able to mail order a box of witch hunters easily enough. Would cost about £15 including p&p.

I dont think the militiabox would make great witch hunters. Good henchmen for the warband, but the heros should be gotten else where.

Silas: the short games aren't in a campaign or anything, just people trying out new lists etc... So they aren't very big games and there aren't a lot of tough characters :P But a normal game takes about hour to an hour and a half :)

And yep, the Witch Hunter warband is better. They look great! :D

Kurlan, I would definately go with the Militia. A friend bought a box of them for his Mercenaries, and with a bit of glue, swearing and patience, he created some really cool miniatures. The other good thing about that box is the amount of weapons options you get. There are lots, and pretty much all of the weapons are used in Mordheim (crossbows, swords, bucklers, blunderbuss, daggers, axes, longbows. There also may be a hammer, but I'm not 100% sure.) That and there are twenty of em, so youcan swap models and weapon options as members in your warbnad progress.
