your favorite/most effective character model

My favorite character build is a master on a adark peg w/ HA, E. shield, SDC, a lance, and Lifetaker. He is an awsome war machine/mage hunter (what he was origanily built for) and also excels at taking out fast cav, scouts, and flyers. He's made my opponents fast cav flee off the board on turn one, criple his magic on turn two and take out his war machines by turn 4. He is AMAZING

My favorite and most effective must be my dreadlord with executioner axe and blood armor in a unit of blackguards who had ASF banner. That unit (20 black guard and dreadlord) alone won against 9 black knights with regeneration banner and with a hero vampire, and 5 blood knights also with vampire, at the same time.

I took the charge, killed off the vampires and the black guard held against the massive hits. The next round, I took down most of the blood knights (mostly due to the amazing strength of the attacks from my lord) and the black knights went next.

Most of my black guard died in the process (just my champion and banner bearer left together with my lord), but they had done their job and much more!

I like Morathi with the Focus Familiar.

Incredibly strong magic with a decent CC charge if all other options fail. And if you DO get stuck in combat, she can hit the unit she's charged with Black Horror and Soul Stealer to thin out it's ranks (and bolster her Wounds) before the combat round.

I always feel kind of sheepish about displaying the little naked model though... :)

This. She turns out to be either msot or least effective, varying quite strongly from game to game.

I use all sorts of different character set ups -- sometimes magic heavy, sometimes with a Dreadlord on a dragon, sometimes no Lord level characters.

But no matter what, I always include a Master on a Dark Pegasus with full armor and Caledor's Bane. Works great for a number of roles, including preventing enemy march moves, hunting war machines, taking out enemy light elements like fast cavalry, and popping chariots. Giving hime a missile weapon is definitely worthwhile too, but I'm on the fence as to whether 2 handbows or a repeater crossbow is the better choice. Armor piercing can be nice sometimes.

4 shots beat 2 shots with AP all the time!
and you don't get -1 to hit for moving!
since you're on pegasus you shouldn't be bothered about short range either.

My favorite and most effective is probalbly a dreadlord on black dragon with Crimson Death, Regen armour and pendant + shield and sdc...

This makes him practically invisible and he can easily take out heavy cavalary units.

My favorite is Master with full mundane armour, lifetaker, lance and peggy. He can pretty much always take twice his points back and I just love my conversion on that mini..

My favourite is the Dreadlord armed with Death piercer, regenerating armour, pendant of khaine, shield and mounted upon cold one and to top it I give him a unit of ten cold knights. Which I have found extremely effective, all it takes one good hit into the enemy lines and that's me pratically won the battle.
Sanity... is for the weak!

I find a Dreadlord on CoC with PoK, Hvy Armor, Shield, SDC, Soul Render
I run him right next to my hydra or next to my CoK. Only been in two battles but both i massacred a VC and a Dwarf army. Latest battle against dwarves I charged with my lord on his chariot and i took out 11 dwarven longbeards. made em panic and over-ran!

I liked the Idea of a Beastmaster with Chillblade, Light Armor, SDC and AHW

That's a 77 point character that could annoy a lot of other much more expensive characters.
Though that was 6'th ed

In 7'thh:

A sorceress with word of pain and hydra teeth could be nice to.

A dreadlord idea would be:
cold one, heavy armor, shield, SDC, Hydra Blade, Pendant & potion of strength

Master on a Manticore, with Crimson Death + Armour of Darkness or Caledor's Bane + Enchanted Shield.
Best Regards, Comrade Igor.
