Shadow Arena - Out of Character Discussion

Post by Kinslayer »

This thread is open for OOC discussion of the Shadow Arena. Please note, that means when a game is being played those players in that game can talk about that game in here. This is to be kept on topic, and only to be used in conjunction with a Shadow Arena game. The idea of this topic is to give players in a game a way to communicate without taking the game itself off topic, thus I will delete any post in here not abiding by this rule.

If you are participating in a Shadow Arena game feel free to use this thread for discussion.

Although I have already mentioned it in my character post, I'd just like to say well done again to Kinslayer, judging from both the Shadow Arena Character Creation and Rules threads he has put a great deal of effort into version 2. I'm keen as to start playing.

We've got 10 players, let the bloodshed begin!

And to all those who don't play the druchii... well, you've already lost due to choice of a lesser race

Is Gil'Valyer High or Dark elf?

Considering he has a longbow I'm guessing High Elf... it's important ;)

Gil'Valyer must be a high elf because he has blademaster as one of his abilities, Dark elves dont have it
If I had a knife I would shoot you

Please keep the OOC chat within reason, not just spamming chat. We have msn etc for that.

Rork edit: Also remember I am watching too. RPG posts still have to conform to the usual forum rules.

Mel'Reyna: your movement stat is used in a number of things. If one opponent is charging at another, who is trying to fire a ranged weapon at them, then a higher movement gives more chance of reaching them before they shoot. If one player tries to run away from another (if reduced to 1DP, for example) movement is used to see if they run / the other catches them. Things like this. Basically any situation where the length of your stride will come into use.

Wow you people realy don't like poor old mad Gil'valyer very much do you. At this rate I am counting it as a moral victory if I am not the first to die :D . Come to think of it this is exactly how I got killed in the first shadow arena game.

Ah well, live and learn.

First lesson do not pick high elf on a dark elf forum write one hundred times untill you are sane.
Moding a group of Druchii.net players is much like directing the musical 'Cats' using actual cats. Frustrating, difficult, chaotic but ultimatley satisfying and a great deal of fun.

Perhaps it would have been more fun to have several high elves not just one then ;)

Since everybody has replied I shall get around to the second mod post if I get the time tonight. I learned from the trial arena though that the mod post takes a long time. Considering I have to read each persons post, then write up what they do based on their intended actions, but everone involves others too. Not as simple as it sounds, since some actions trigger different things etc. I shall try and find the time today, like I said.

There is another High Elf involved... and we happen to be ganging up on him as well (even if it's in Chaos Dwarf guise). But seriously Ainur! Durguth was just minding his own beeswax. You reap what you sow!

T'Keela: Having not seen that mentioned film (I assume), I hope that is not a stab at religion. Such things will no doubt bring down the Hammer of Rork upon thee.

I know allusions to raiders of old...

Although I expect future posts to be back on topic, T'Keela.

Well, pray to the dice Gods for deliverance, or something! I have plenty of dice, all of them unloaded, and probably didn't use the same one each turn. Sorry if you feel the game is picking on you there ;)

Note: I had made a mistake in the Read This First thread. Thanks to T'Keela for noticing it.

Great Swords and Great Axes now confer the +1 strength (high strength ability).

They did already, it just didn't say they did as I missed it out.

Also, what are peoples thoughts on elves having +1 A and -1 BS on their basic profile?
