[PLOG] - Repainting an army

Post by With hatred ... »

I've been following this forum for a long time now and it has inspired me to repaint my army including re-basing them too.

I went for a ruins in winter setting along with a much darker colour scheme.

First up is the Black Guard..

Any helpful tips on impoving them are most welcome.[/img]

They look really good. My only comment is that you will have an army to be proud of if everything is painted to the same standard.

Very nice indeed! Except that big red halberd. That makes no sense to me and looks out of place. Everything else looks good.

Thanks both. The halberd is bothering me too, I was going for a representation of crimson death but with little success.

I've just realised that there's grass on the bases but not on the movement tray. I'm sure you don't mind though.

More to come soon.

Try painting it turquiose, I'm sure it'd fit better in with your snow theme.

I had a bit of spare time yesterday, long enough t rebase my first unit of crossbows. These are the old metal crossbows by marauder but with a simple head swap from the current plastics.

Is it wrong that I like the old metal models better? *sigh* Oh well, someday they'll get new models.

Great work so far btw!!

Along with the re-painting and re-basing I've started to plan a new unit of shades and this is the first. I entered it into an open competition on the dwarf community forum Bugman's Brewery where it came second.
I'm not sure that the picture does it justice, if I get time during the week I'll try to take a photo in a light box to see if makes any difference.

I hope you like...

Cool stuff. I always get giddy when I see one of the old Corsair champions painted well.
