Such a fan of the marauder mini's. Have to say yours are experiencing considerably more TLC than mine!

@T.D.: This is a bit of an OT Q., but who's the guy in your sig? Reminds me of Blanka from 'Street Fighter'....

Quote in my sig is from Tyrannus Deathbringer -- my fluff character coming to a PnM forum near you ...once I get over being lazy Just like the famous Conan the Barbarian quote about "What is good in life?", it is a steal from the mouth of Genghis Khan: "All who surrender will be spared; whoever does not surrender but opposes with struggle and dissension, shall be annihilated." - Genghis Khan but Tyrannus, being a Dark Elf Dreadlord, does not give you the option of being spared

LOL. Got you! It is from Street Fighter - the hidden boss of Super Street Fighter II (and many later incarnations of the game), Akuma. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akuma_%28Street_Fighter%29

The more of your work I see the more I love these characterful models. They're total pirates. I love it.

It's been a while but I'm still plugging away at the retro elves. Here's the latest batch. I'm slightly disappointed with the pictures as they have washed out the highlights but you get the idea. The plan is to get a unit of 30 together, I'll have to convert one to a standard somewhere along the line. Hopefully it won't be long 'til the next update. Cheers.

Great job as ever, always a treat to see the older metal minis given an up to date finish.

Thanks a lot. They were quite nice to paint, so that helped a lot. That's right, I suppose they would be hand bows?

Ahhh, these girls were one of the reasons I fell in love with Dark Elves. Still have a soft spot in my heart for them over all other versions released. Really clean and atmospheric paint job.

Beautiful painting! I still have some of these as well. They're different to the modern ones but still cool.

14 Witch Elves led by Death Hag -- a unit that will still kick ass in this day and age!

Thanks both. Just a quick update as I've finished the display bases/movement trays for my assassins and scouts. Continuing the theme from the DE Regiment using the plastic Lord of the Rings terrain. Cheers.

Very nice paintjob! But really, if DE would still look like that I would NEVER EVER play them, I find the models extremely ugly!

As someone who grew up at the time these were made, I can appreciate how fine they were (in comparison to other miniatures of the time). While they are not the sleek and proportioned beauties of our new releases they still have charm IMO. Indeed our new releases wouldn't exist without the antecedence of these models. Eye of the Beholder and all that

With you all the way here. These were the available models at the time I started, in fact I started prior to them. I loved the aesthetics at the time although I had the Wood elf equivalents. The fully chainmail barded horses were my favourite. Not to mention the wild boars
