I like that list! Especially the character loadouts. I have a tough time with what lore to choose myself, but heavens has a lot of good stuff. Shadow is great on an SS though since she can meet the high casting values of the lore of shadow much easier than lesser casters, and shadow can be extremely devastating and is huge against low initiative opponents.

If you want to change something, I'd take a look at the chariot. For 150 points, you can get another unit of 5 shades + a bolt thrower (just one RBT is often disappointing). You could scrape together 10more points for another kharibdyss or hydra. Another cool option is a unit of 10 black guard as a stubborn "tarpit" (150pts exactly). That unit take a charge from a tough unit, they lose a lot but stick on stubborn, and you charge in with your cold one bus to finish them off.

Just a couple of ideas.

while I do like those ideas, alot, there is 1 problem. since the Tourny has a strict WYSIWYG i cant field anything i dont have :P
and what I have is

Core;
38 Corsairs (29+ Unit Filler)
10 Dark Riders (Optional Musi & Champion)
16 Darkshards with Full Command

Special;
8 Cold One Knights with Full Command
1 Reaper Bolt Thrower
1 Scourgerunner Chariot
5 Shades (with optional Champion)

Rare;
5 Doomfire Warlocks
1 Kharibdyss

-----

with 10 Darkshards on the way and 15 (well 10 but i have unit fillers planned for this) SoS.

so minus the Corsairs im basicly fielding everything i own xD

Haha, I had a feeling that was gonna be an issue. As I said, I really do like you're list, it's got a lot of mobile units with the characters and DRs, decent shooting between the RBT and shards, as well as the kharibdyss and cold one bus for the punch. Scourgerunner is kind of a wildcard but should be a fun model to use and has a large charge range for a chariot. Impact hits are nothing to scoff at.

Major issue is at 2250 points you will probably be facing pretty thick blocks of ranked troops that will be steadfast, which is what I notice you're list lacks. Pick you're targets wisely with your shooting and magic to thin the ranks before you charge in with the cold one bus or your likely to get bogged down and counter charged. Your list has the capability to deal with those threats, just something you'll have to be aware of and plan appropriately.

Let me know how you do! Love reading the battle reports on this forum.

yeah i know the Scourgerunner is a Wildcard xD but thats what I like about it. last game it missed all 5 of its shots, then on the last turn i had it charge a unit of 3 Demis in the flank that where beeing a pain and managed to break em

generally i run a unit of ~35 Corsairs as my steadfast block with my BSB in there. but I wanted a Lv4 and didnt have points to put her on a DP. so needed a bunker for her. but then i dont have points left for a good block of Corsairs.

dillemas :cry:

What you see is what you get = wysiwyg

So having a great weapon on your shades' model is mandatory if you opt for that in your army list for example. It's a pretty standard tournament rule.

Well to keep my last battle simple, I got tabled xD this was largely due to bad positioning and less to bad units.
New list has some alterations (dropped Khallipso in favor of 2 more RBTs and will switch to Lore of Fire)

My biggedt dillema is still my Drealords Loadout.
So far i have either

Full Mundane, Lance, CoT, Dawnstone, SpellShield
or
Full Mundane, Black Amulet, The Other Trickster Shard, Sword of Might, Dragon Helm

the first one might get changed to CoT, Ogre Blade, Dragon Helm if i just want him to punch stuff hard & kill it but I would like him to have some staying power after te first round of combat ;)

If I'm not mistaken then your DL kit with the Black Amulet is 5 pts over. Amulet is 60, dragonhelm 10, sword of might 20 and OTS 15. Replacing the helm with the charmed shield is a option

Is there going to be magic comp, ie. power dice cap? 'cos mindrazor could be a real difference maker. The other tools of shadow will run well with your list too; -BS for enemy firepower, -T for enemies and then concentrate fire on them. -S for when/if your knights and pegasus have to take a grind for the team. And incidentally, cold ones with S9 are pretty nasty too ;) I think 3 RBT's and no K-beast is the right call. It matches your list more.

For the 'first pegasus' in my lists, I almost always go with the cloak + dawnstone combo. He has the best defenses available, which, as your only flier, should be a clear priority. He will beat chariots, many kinds of monsters, war machines (of course) and smaller packs of elite troops with ease. What he cant do is kill ward saved combat heroes, and big blocks of nasties. But then, prolonged duels is not the DE way ;)

Honestly, I would not look twice at the black amulet build when there is a much stronger option: ogre blade + talisman of preservation + the other trickster's shard will give you way more utility, as the black amulet limits his use to challenges. Where the tooled combat heroes of many other races will sometimes even beat him, as an OTS on the enemy hero severely limits the strength of the black amulet :/

@Sentarr;
the Sword of Might is only 15 Points, not 20 ;)

@Thraundil;
Nope, no ristrictions at all, just 2250 points and everything needs to be atleast Base Coated. I've always used Shadow, put I felt that I needed a little magic punch other then "I Test or Die" and since I expect quite a high average 'I' I was looking for something more potent ;)
In the end it boils down to that doesnt it? :P It's by far my favorite load-out aswell, yet with a special Scenario where your Unit Champions can pick who they challenge. I would just hate for him to get bogged down xD (hence all the Champions)
Hence why I looked at the Black Amulet ;)

In which version of the rulebook? 'cos in mine, it says 20 points ;)

Uncomped, I'd look to simply get some more warlocks on the field, and then stick with shadow. But of course if you are limited by model count... I'd honestly still grab corsairs with mindrazor. They will carve through stuff - and should the cast be dispelled, you then presumeable have enough hexes to at least make your corsairs survive the fight, only to attempt razor again next turn. Opponents with more models available will surely come with all kinds of nasty stuff, and you need something to carve them up I feel.

I feel so stupid now :oops: My Apologies Sentarr
I need to stop relying on BattleScrib...

Preferable I would field a large unit of Corsairs, (have 39 of the buggers) but I need a good bunker for my SS and I dont have the point allowance to put her on a DP

Man only 1 RBT...no witches, no black guard or executioners? I'm not sure I'd know how to cope!

Adaptation ;) and the fact that I put way to much thought into Fluff :P
I always wanted a nice unit of BG (out of place reasoning (played one in WAR)) but later found out a DL on Foot was just sub optimal.

I have plenty of fluff too - I made up a whole Black Ark for my army (The Black Ark "Apocalypse"), but I also have to marry that to, especially in my college days when I was single, my addiction to buying minis. :)

Let's just say I have options. :P
