Cool list, I like how it is quite a bit different from the standard Dark Eldar fare. Unfortunately, I don't think your deepstriking webway portal combo is the way to go. If you end up getting that reserve roll with the bloodbrides before the portal is down they will be coming in from your table edge...

First of all, congrats on deciding to get your guardsmen organized into an army. Now on to the questions, The Valkyrie kit doesn't come with the lascannons you need to make a Vendetta, so you'll have to either buy from forgeworld or else get some heavy weapon teams and convert. Plasma guns are prett...

I voted for marines but if I could have voted twice I would have picked imperial guard the second time. That being said I really don't find that there is any lack of variety when I play 40k. The fact is that there are a huge variety of play styles built in to the five space marine books available. P...

I guess I better stay true to the title of my thread and ditch the hydra. I was unable to get a game in on the weekend but I did rethink a couple of things in my list. After reading this article I thought that maybe a sneaky assassin could replace my hydra. He would probably go in one of the shade u...

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Remember Lore of Death damage spells lets you generate PD back. 5 Spells raises your chance of getting THE spells you want/need. Every single spell is a want for me, including the signature. Exactly! I want all of the spells in the lore, especially doom and darkness...

Wound allocation and characters
This came up recently in my last game and I wasn't sure how to handle it. There was a chaos warrior unit that had been whittled down to three guys, a champion, and the battle standard bearer. I got spirit of the forge off and landed seven hits on the unit. This is where the confusion starts. I know ...

...So, would you be happy to have your HE opponent tell you that there is a banner, somewhere in the whole battlefield, providing an advantage to his magic phase, and you cannot know which unit or BSB is holding it until you destroyed the right banner? That's the way we've always done it in my area...

Looks like a nice list. For your chimeras, I would recommend the multi laser and heavy bolter combo. Assumming that you won't be moving these units too much, you can use the chimera as a decent firebase. If you plan on moving them, or if your enemies usually get close to you quickly, I would recomme...

Static combat resolution (or SCR) is combat resolution that you get without really doing anything. This includes things like ranks, banners, and the outnumbering bonus. Typical SCR units are cheap, so you can afford to buy enough to get ranks. Spear Elves are a prime example. Active combat resolutio...

Here's my take on the situation I would have the lord and Unit E (damsel lance) charge the thirster. The lord challenges, and has a small, but decent, chance of surviving the round. If he gets killing blow, it will have been worth the risk. Revised: Now the Lord, Damsel lance, and pegasus knights ch...

A quick psychology question.
If a stubborn unit is outnumbered by a fearcausing enemy, and it lost a round of combat, will the stubborn unit autobreak or take an unmodified leadership test? Sorry if this one's obvious, but I don't have access to the rulebook for a while. When this came up in a game two weeks ago, we played it t...

This looks like fun. Witch elves and dark riders double charge the central bloodletters. Hopefully hatred, combat resolution, and poison should finish them off pretty quickly. Hydra moves to intercept the right bloodletters, then sends in the (assuming he has full wounds) high strength breath weapon...
