SCALLAT: In an army like that (should look great on the table, that many DE regiments ) LD 9 should be very useful (as in LD 9 general, pimp the 2 sorcs to 1 lvl 4 or include a cheap hero on peg/whatever). I would also imagine that the stopping power of a small unit of BG should be very useful withi...

Still, it gives the hydra a very distinct place amongst terror causing (rare slot) monstrosities. Where other similar units may have staying power or fly or enter the table after deployment - the hydra is the most killiest of them all. I am no fan of double rare choices but a single hydra will alway...

I do not want to talk down Execs, either. I have seem them used to great effect in 6th ed by a marvellous player - but that was with the banner of murder... They are still a great sidekick for an anvil unit (which became just so much more desireable), flanking the opponent next turn. it is just that...

Does that mean we loose our current Banner of Murder, or is it just getting a namechange? It has been lost in the annuls of time... Stop it already! The more i hear of the finalized version the more i get the impression that GW got the ELF part right (better medium infantry, better heavy infantry, ...

I do understand the dissapointment of some DE players with dark magic lore - in my eyes it is the perfect lore to kick someone who is already on the floor. In gaming terms: when the DE player has the absolute magical superiority anyways it is quite good. But really, when is this going to happen in a...

Hello all. I love the banner of Ngarythe. it is a truly wonderful piece of background worked into the dark elf list. This is the banner with which Anaerion did sent the forces of Hell (chaos...) packing home! The 8000 years old army standard of Nagarythe, in fact the one true army standard of all el...

So, my RXBs armed units should have shields? Hmmm, never thought of that before <jots info down> . Should I spend the points for a full command then? No. Full command is something for fully fledged combat units. Support units are there to swing the battle by a) weakening the enemy early on. b) gett...

What the wo/man with the strange name said. RXBs are a godsend, if you need to soften up the enemy (and which dark elf doesn't?). To me, they are far, far more useful than RBTs. They are mobile. With a shield, they do double as combat support troops. They are a lot harder to kill than RBTs. They can...

You can even expand on the idea: BSB in chariot w/ banner of Nagarythe. Sure, expensive as hell (+125 pts over the warbanner) but a real multi talented unit. Unbreakable (even if the nike saurus destroys the chariot), immune to psychology (as far as i am aware this does indeed cancel stupidity - bec...

Hmm, I'm not convinced. But I think there beards are great, much better than the ordinary dwarves'. And you know what? The best part is, the beards are staying (just look at the crew of the hell cannon)! Well, that's halfway cross to the hats staying, too. Good to hear that you liked my post. Well,...

As much as it saddens me - i cannot for the life of me find a use for the brides of Khaine. Too expensive, too fragile, too little killing power (at least for anything within their own points cost league)... with a very, very bad psychology rule to boot (for a non skirmishing infantry unit, at least...

...and it is here that we part
Greetings my dark lords, it has been a pleasure to work at your side - but time is of essence and there are more pressing issues to handle right now. This is the time of our ressurection, of our coming, of our empire to rise and strech far west, beyond the world's edge mountains. For too long we hav...

All in all, i agree with Evilzealot (keep it easy and playable, only FIX the game - don't redesign it!) but in one point: Greatweapons. IMO gw are fine as they are including all their rules (ie striking first when charging). "Nerfing" gw would just unbalance all the nice (infantry) units with gw and...

Actually, i think Asger brings up a valid point. When i look around at a tournament i often see nothing than FM units (and probably 1 BCU) and - these armies tend to do good. My personal opinion on this matter is - that's bad games design. Warhammer or, as i should put it, the most recently develope...

Great work langmann! But, to say it bluntly, i think this is far too conservative. Be more - err - fantastic! Armies need "Wow! factors". Like most "modern armies" (chaos, skaven, lizzies, upcoming brets) are. There are things other players just hate or fear to see (and i don't mean the OTT stuff li...

Well, another rules layering question about stupidity and "ignore psychology": If a unit becomes stupid, and thus ignores psychology and then ahs to take a terror test - how do you solve it? Naturally, the unit doesn't test for psychology (as it ignores psychology) - but does this count as "1 terror...
