Seriously, I think you are overestimating them a bit. I play them myself. The Teradons can be shot down - and will not be too much of a problem once they have dropped their load (which is very dice-dependent anyway). And the Slann gets killed by the RoHotek just like any other mage. Saurus warriors ...

I had the problem that a HE-General used Hatred to send my BG into a swamp for a few turns, slowing them down. Apart from that, it's working (mostly) wonderfully for me.

I like Bladewind since it is so useful against war-machines. As for the rest - Doombolt is, unfortunately, the least useful one.

I would recomment keeoing them apart. Putting all you eggsin a single basket rarely is a good idea. Plus, your opponent has to worry about two possible problems, rather than one.

I can understand that you don't want to have them frenzied, it is always a matter of reliability, and against a devious opponent, you can get into trouble. AP is a good solution, alternatively - why not the War Banner? An additional +1 to CR, whether you kill something or not (and the assassin alone...

Besides, it would mean that your character reduces the opponent's AS by -2, not -1.
