Re: Scourgerunner Chariot

Yes you are absolutely right it is not stated in the book so hence no go.... indeed sadly. But a Dark Steed is a Dark Steed with the rule Fast Cavalry, all I'm saying is that since the Dark Steeds are mounted in front of the chariot it should have the Fast Cavalry rule. There is a list on page 82 st...

Re: Scourgerunner Chariot

Yes it is RAW (at least in the paper armybook, and with looking back at the older editions). But I was just trying to get my point across there, cause both rules come from the mount and not the riders and both should give it to the model. What I should have said at the end of my last post "Rule...

Re: Scourgerunner Chariot

Cold One Chariot has stupidity listed among its special rules, Not in the ipad version but they had it previously so no argument there. even though the rule affects only mounts If either the rider or the mount is subject to Stupidity, then the whole model is affected by the result of the test. (pag...

Re: Scourgerunner Chariot

Counter-proof: in the provious army book, DR were fast cav when DS-mounted characters were not. They had the same dark steeds, though. Yes very true but the DS never had the fast cav rule, until now, High Elves still can't have fast cav characters, because it's an unit special rule and not their st...

Re: How to fight vampire counts?

If this scream suddenly works through the cloak, I'll claim to get my KB through on those damned etherals

I'm all for :D

I hate that scream/howl ability, it's really powerful but luckely for dark elves relatively easy to deal with, just keep your monsters away from it, having their LD dropped to 6 :(

Re: How to fight vampire counts?

The wearer of the Cloak of Twilight has a 3+ ward save against Wounds caused by shooting attacks and spells. A Death Shriek is a special attack that can be used against a single unit in the Shooting phase, even if the Terrorgheist has marched, charged, or is engaged in close combat......... A Death...

@Enkiel: Yes your right, the shriek/howl is used in the shooting phase even when in CC.

Re: How to fight vampire counts?

Not as far as I know, they are not shooting attacks just magical attacks made in the shooting phase. It can be used in CC so is not a shooting attack. A breath weapon for example, specifically states it is both a shooting or CC attack. The Shriek or Howl even contradicts/ignore almost all rules of s...

Re: Scourgerunner Chariot

Weekend went by and I kept thinking on this, but in the end I do think they should have the fast cavalry rule. Dark Steeds have the Fast Cavalry rule, there is no debate in that. The chariot rules specifically say: (p.86) CHARIOTS AND SPECIAL RULES Just as with cavalry, we assume that special rules ...

Re: Scourgerunner Chariot

Yeah your probably right.

I was hoping they also forgot it in the paper army-book.
Had a couple more faults in the iPad version, many are already fixed with an update.

The point cost would have made a lot more sense then though.

thanks for the reply, cheers

Scourgerunner Chariot

A little thing I noticed on the the Scourge Runner Chariot. It's pulled by Dark Steeds and Dark Steeds have the Fast Cavalry special rule, so does this mean it has the Fast Cavalry special rule? In the chariot and special rules section it says follow the rules for Cavalry (p82) and there with the FA...

At least Blade Wind can cause panic now The mega star throwing assassin is stupid, just plain stupid, they even redid the krox in the new Lizzie armybook so they wouldn't auto kill chariots!? crazy GW! Like some others I was so hoping for a SDC on Malus, as Gav himself said he forgot to put it in! L...

We already decided that assassin with rending stars and manbane isn't throwing stars anymore, he's throwing chainsaws.

Makes sense now

Anyway, I'll be playing it as gav intended, max str 6.

Very true he aint with the company anymore, but he didn't intent for us to be using it as a str7 weapon. It just kinda bothered me abit just throwing a star and bye bye chariot... a bit over the top I'd say. But your right rule-wise, it's nasty Lets just hope for a quick FAQ and errata, cheers

Manbane and rending stars

Seen a lot of post about the rending stars and manbane combo, getting to a total of strength 7...... So I had to ask, just to be sure, and on mechanical hamster I asked and got an answer from cav. Was an assassin always meant as a chariot killing star throwing maniac… I mean Strength 7 on a throwing...

Normally you have to use your lance in subsequent rounds, at least when mounted. Damn good question though when you lose your mount! Like you can't find it anywhere.... but thinking RAW, when you fight with the weapon you started with, you can't change it, but when you charge a new enemy for example...

Do you guys play with scenery? If so it will make playing against shooty army's easier. If not I'd go for lots of cav and harpies to screen them, masters on pegasus as stated before. With the cav you'll be able to charge him on turn 2, making sure he's got pretty much nothing to shoot at anymore, ju...

I really like your list, nasty
Me I really love having a second unit of harpies these days, just seems to give my opponents a headache of what to shoot, I love em in 7th :D if you can find some points ,try it!

As for the assassin it's a great combo worked out for me pretty well :D
