Re: Help needed - Sorceress equipment

Actually you've only got 25pts rather than 30, as the dispel scroll is 25 itself.
Edit: Sorry, ignore that. Thought you meant a regular sorceress, not a supreme.

Fair enough, at least there's a workaround.

Thanks for the responses.

Re: Battle Chronicler: beautiful battle report diagrams

Quick query. I recently reinstalled Battle Chronicler, and I'm curious if terrain can be moved in any way during the player turns? It's just in the event of spells and whatnot that might conjure, move or destroy features. Had a quick test but couldn't find a means of doing it.

There are going to be NEW Malus Darkblade titles!

Just got an email from Black Library showing off artwork for covers of upcoming titles. The Darkblade one is particularly sexy. You can find them here m. C L Werner is the one taking over. I did like Mike Lee's style, although he did seem to run out of adjectives after a while, but I've enjoyed C L ...

Re: AoW New Dark Elf preview.

Nice concept, but something about the proportions doesn't look quite right. I'd also have to see a close-up of the face to see if she shares the same blow up doll expression that AoW's more recent dark elves have.

Re: Paint removal

I must highly recommend to everyone the use of Fairy Power Spray, which is normally used for cleaning up burnt on grease and the like. Others in the wargaming community have made the discovery recently and since trying it myself, I must say it's magic. All you have to do is submerge what you want to...

Re: What works best for you against shooting-heavy armies?

As well as all of the above remarks, I would think Dark magic would be the way to go as well. Having both chillwind and word of pain will be good for shutting down bs shooting, and most of the other spells will be useful too.

Re: Putting humans in their place 3000pts vs Empire illustra

I enjoy Druchii fluff so much that I also got hold of one of the old army books (The one with Malekith on the cover) which has a wonderful gem near the back. It has a full page detailing how a Cold One Knight arms himself for war, including the names and ceremonial purpose of a few weapons and piece...

Agreed with every one else. Hearing someone say that they are painting a new army with their bride-to-be in their wedding colours, is quite possibly the most epic thing anyone has said on a warhammer forum.! Very well played ...and great write up ^ This! And if I may say so...your narrative/verse is entertaining and imaginative. Good enough for publication. I mean really, your stuff was better than most of the writing I have read that came out of the Black Library. You sir, have just made my morning. I...

Re: Putting humans in their place 3000pts vs Empire illustra

Loving the in-character narrative! Also, very well fought battle. You played it out to near-perfection, I would say. Small point though; in one turn where your dragon sorceress charges the CH, you say you doombolt with her. You cant cast magic missiles while in close combat, so that was technically...

Great Warlock Lord! I love the plastic chaos sorcerer, he's incredibly versatile for conversions. I've seen people do all sorts of things with it. Personally I actually made liches out of it for my vamp army, as I didn't want mortal necromancers. :)

Putting humans in their place 3000pts vs Empire illustrated

Here we go, my first game with the new book against a returning player trying Empire for the first time. I'd only fought Chaos Warriors up until now, so despite my opponent's inexperience I was still a bit dubious about how this would go. Usually the only shooting phase I have to put up with is a He...

Re: Good Novels Concerning the Druchii

As above, Malekith is not bad but it is technically pre-druchii. It is a nice insight into the man himself before he became the Witch King though, and although he may not have been a friendly individual, he did have both heroic and even generous moments. The Tales of Malus Darkblade series though ar...

Chariots can still freely pivot as many times as they like during their move. During a *charge only* they follow charge rules like any other unit, including wheeling towards the target and being limited to a single wheel up to 90 degrees at any point plus closing the doors. Found it! Thank you, I w...

well I suppose it's an error in the italian version. What about Malekith? Again my manual says "sostituisce entrambi (=both) gli aurighi del carro" so let's wait for the english version but I suppose someone must survive to drive that thing In the English version: Malekith replaces both c...

Re: A journey into Darkness

Good God I wish I could do faces like you; I can even see the whites of their eyes! I don't have the steadiest hand and even if I go the route of many thin layers I still find that I lose detail at a rapid rate. Best result I can manage is the shortcut method of basecoat, shade, highlight. Then poss...

It's an epic Peggy conversion but I would agree with Phierlihy on the Dreadlord. Druchii aren't really 'furry' people. Sea Dragon, Cold One or human hide is the height of our fashion! :)

Re: Chariot Dreadlord?

I've always been a big fan of chariots and like Underway I previously used to use both my general and BSB (used to carry the old +D3 combat res banner) on them. They make for quite nice punch units when you need a lot of combat res in a short space of time. As already pointed out they're not a good ...

Re: A journey into Darkness

Beautiful work so far! Even though the pictures aren't close-up you can still see how sharp they are. Also I'm surprised to find that the light pinky colour seems to work rather well, perhaps because it's offset against a bit of black as well. It gives them a very Cult of Slaanesh look which seems t...

Re: Avatars of War - "Witch Elves"

Personally I prefer the sharper details of the GW ones and the easier assembly of plastic. Also isn't it feasible to just cut down the ruined statuary so more of them are on ground level? That said, I won't write off the AoW ones. They are nice for the price, and the presence of a low cost alternati...

Re: Avatars of War - "Witch Elves"

Those are nicer than I expected them to be, but there's something about the faces that doesn't look quite right. Would need to get a close look at them really. In an ideal world they'll look similar enough to the GW ones to be able to mix them together so there's more variety. I do think the GW ones...
