Re: Anti-Dwarf Tactics
This is a good concept but keep in mind if he takes a couple of 5 man ranger units he can contest the shades so it's not surefire. Honestly its a sad fact but I feel like executioners and magic are our best bet at combatting dwarf infantry. Either that or just purely avoidance. I thought about rang...

I will run a unit of 30-35 Executioners 10x3. 31 attacks with Greatweapons. Hag BSB with ASF inside unit, Hag with Cauldron backing it with buffs. That´s a first turn loss. Artillery is more plentiful and accurate. There´ll be a tough balance in getting use of Step up and being a point give away vs...

Yep, I've got rules galore to games that I'll never find regular opponents for. I find it hard enough to get a game of Warhammer fantasy going much less a better but more obscure game. ( looks longingly at my Flames of War Army gathering dust) I´m in a game Mecka of a city and FoW had a good run, b...

Nooo...have you even read the rumours? Fear = WS/I 1 now. Umm, yes, I have read the rumours: Have you even read my post? It wasn´t clear to me that you mean the current situation. I apologize for misunderstanding your intent. Yup, they seem to get into their own. Pity the infantry seem destined to ...

So you get to that all important, game changing charge (remembering that Execs strike last and have just T3 and 5+ saves, so they NEED the charge) against a unit of fear causing models and....Nooo, you rolled too high. You don't charge, instead wait for the inevitable counter charge, where you will...

Hear, hear
An amazingly witty and entertaining report despite being clear and consise. To top it off it an army and result that proves that it´s all quite possible to play "the soft" army. Please do return to these boards in the future

I tried them in the opposite direction I think. As an expendable unit of 7 alongside the CoB. Costing less than a hundred points but with the CoB they still can kill anything in the game on the charge. I felt that they were a perfect nuisance like that. Bother your artillery and magic with the Spear...

You can place a cheap unit like spearmen or Xbows near the cauldron of blood. In the cheap unit you hide an assasin in it. If the enemy become near the Caudron reveal the assasin. Only the assassin charge the enemy unit and now the Ld 10 stubborn assassin keep hold the enemy unit for a while. This ...

Agreed, much like the STANk or treemen. One is meh, two is powerful. I wholeheartedly disagree. If judging by your sig, you tend to think more of balanced lists, in which case a single Tank/Tree/Hydra is not meh at all. As long as your tactics dont solely rely on Tank/Tree/Hydra to win, but rather ...

Btw, I don´t know if anyone mentioned this before, but with the AP banner it counts for ranged damage too. So, say 12 of them with maxed shooting potential and FC would set you back 173 but loose 16 St 3 AP shots per volley. Assuming 7 + 5 formation to gain the rank bonus. Worth it? Hard to say. E.g...

There´s more reasons for the RHB Corsairs to work on the flank and that is their special rule. I imagine them advancing up the flanks, cleaning opposing light support out in the meantime, and then turning and facing inwards to the main battle. At this point the Slavers rule becomes an important fact...

They´re the middlemen. I belive that they could play a useful role as flankers with the rhb. The Slavers rules says support unit to me so I envision them on a flank countering enemy light cavalry, working beside a more heavy hitter like the Hydra, and looking into the main battle line for an opportu...

It's pretty much stand and shoot, I'm not sure if there is anything other than the rending stars and the repeater handbows he can have. Suppose there could be potential in a manbane'd repeater crossbow if you were using the assasin as a bodyguard, merely there to discourage any characters from taki...
