Converting WHF fan fic into None Warhammer fic

I am trying to pull a 50 Shades: Converting fan fiction into not original fiction. In this case the Birth of a Dark Elf stuff. And well, I think your opinions as war gamers and shared terminology will make translating my thoughts easier And I need some advise on world building. Since my protagonist ...

Re: 8th: Hydra or Kharibdyss vs Treeman?

We sometimes call the giant squid thing the K Beast for short. I want to lean towards K beast. The two monsters were were made for different things I like to call Crowd Control and Brawler. The Hydra was more into Crowd Control, with his many attacks, Breath Attack, and Stomp made it good for dealin...

Unit Discussion Darkling Covens Bleak Swords

For the longest time, the two most common core models of any dark elf unit were the warriors, which not only came as options in the same box (thus allowing for multiple bits of spare parts) but came in the carieties of stab it with a spear or shoot it with a crossbow. For the longest time, they were...

Re: would you play with a man. and his 3d printer army?

I think it depends. When you look at the older editions, at least a quarter of the units you could used could had to be kit bashed, and it wasn't until maye 7th or 8th edition that many got an actual model. Others that existed, were often more expensive so it made sense to kit bashed them (how many ...

Unit Discussion: Darkling Covens Dark Shards

Another oldie but a goody, we have a fairly unique crossbow. Historically, the Chinese invented the repeating crossbow, and what it lacked in power and accuracy, it made up for the number of hits it could get, with a 8 or 10 round clip, and the use of wolf's bane on the tips to poison the target. In...

Unit Discussion: The Dreadspears of the Darkling Covenanns

Ok, This is where we talk about the typical strategies, weaknesses, and strengths of different units of Age of Sigmar, in this case the old standby of the dark elves: the Spearmen! And like most of my posts, I will have pretty pretty pictures to go with it as no one likes reading a block of text on ...

Saint's Manticores (Pic heavy)

Here are a couple of manticore models I made using spar parts, a couple of toys from Hobby Town USA, and clay. I got the inspiration for this after seeing a kitbash on Cool Mini or Not of one ridden by a Warriors of Chaos charecter. So why not do one for the dark elves? We have to get a beastmaster ...

Saint's first battle in a while

Hello. I got a chance to get into an impromptu game. I had initialy brought stuff for a Kings of War Game, and random stuff I used for DND but in the end I got enough to get a thousand points in. Huzza. 2v2. My opponents had undead and a whole lot of Orruks (not sure what they were called, just that...

Great concept. Personaly I figure they would e more gore due to size, but this might be me talking. I could see Water Buffalo or Rhinos for minotours as well, maybe even a hippo eqivolent.

What do you have for the ungores and gors?

Theories and Ideas we want for the Next Elf Release

I'm guessing there has to be another elf release for minies. GW loves money and making kits with alternet units so what could they have in mind? I think starting with the dreadlord and sorceress minies would be a start. Outside of the magical covens or the dragon princes lines, the one dark elfy her...

Saint's Kings of War 1000 Point Twilight Kin

So I am getting into the game, using my current army (will have to find a new use to the Bloodwrack Shrine, but I have plenty of use for myreaper minies). So I am going to try this: 1000 points 2 Regiments of 20 Crossbowmen. I did an all combat army last time so I wanted to try some more range units...

Best Tactics for 8th ed and Age of Sigmar

Given ou continual love of 8th edition and the advent of 8th ed, what do you think the best strategies are. This week: Dreadspears In general spear men are a go to unit in the game and in real life. It is the longest used weapon used by man with variations including the lance, pike, javelin, harpoon...
