Re: Clockwork's 9th Age Dread Elves!

Very lovely army, the dark colours work really well on making the whole force look menacing.

I especially like your BSB, what a simple yet awesome conversion!

Love the colour choice of your Kharibdyss, I think it really contrasts nicely with the pale flesh on the elves. Wonderful start, can't wait to see more!

Really digging the muted colours on the Kharibdyss there! And I really like the frozen puddle on the base, it's a nice touch

Re: [PLOG] The vengence of Veysha Everkiss

Good to see this plog progressing along! I think that the cold ones probably need a little bit of a highlight on their skin, even just a few simple layers to give it some added texture. The green of the scales near the skin/scale border (if that's even a thing) matches too much and makes it look unf...

Re: The House of Black Flames: A Druchii Project

@ stratagem Thanks for the praise! @ flatworldsedge Thanks for the input! I think the dusting technique is really powerful in allowing you to see the highlights very well and easily, which helps out for my untrained eye. Also, doing a black prime underneath means that any shadows are already natura...

Re: DRUCHII.NET SECRET SANTA

Correct me if I'm wrong Cultofkhaine , but I think the idea is that we can show some of our WIP shots as we go along. I guess if you think that you're painting is going to obviously be recognised then you can refrain from posting, but I think we could all post WIP pics at least in the building phase...

Really nice back story, I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing how this progresses! Definitely keep the fluff up, it makes your work more than just painted models - it adds a whole lot more character to them!

Wow, that's a fantastic cauldron there! I really like the extra detail on the spider's back, nice GS work.

Look forward to seeing this completed!

Re: AVATARS OF WAR COMPETITION CHAT THREAD

Sorry I couldn't get my entry finished in time, unfortunately that pesky 'real life' got in the way again. I am so impressed and amazed with the quality that the community has put out though, and I intend to use this enthusiasm to revive my old plog! So, whilst I might not be taking part in this com...

@ Khaleth Blackheart Thanks, I really hope I can get him done in time too! @ Blydz Haha glad you like it without colour, cause it might stay that way a while * * * * Ok, so here is today's progress. http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh528/xIlMaestrox/IMG_4567.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: AVATARS OF WAR COMPETITION CHAT THREAD

@ Khaleth Blackheart I think the skin stands out a lot more now, looking really good! @ Dyvim tvar Really nice mini you have there! That banner is ace, and the addition of the runes on the back really makes the model feel complete. I think the banner itself is really great, you've got a nice bit of...

Re: AVATARS OF WAR COMPETITION CHAT THREAD

@ direweasel Really nice job there, it's looking good! I think it's a bit hard to comment on the colours given that the photo is not taken under some natural light, maybe try and get a photo outside in the afternoon, or if it's not too bright, so we can get a better idea of how the colours work? Ot...

Wow! So much has gone on in here over the last few weeks! Re: Get your PhD in Arcane arts. Tell us how YOU tried

Not sure if I'll be able to get a story done over the next few days, but either way I'd love to vote! Having said that, I'll wait until the end to cast it one way or another, just to give everyone a chance to produce something special. Some great reads in here, I didn't realise we had so many story ...

I missed these! The story is really coming along nicely, can't wait to see how it continues to unfold! Just don't do a GRRM and make us wait another 10 years for the next one please ;)

Re: [PLOG} The Great Crusade of Har Ganeth

Tbh, I don't think the bloodied weapons is at all a big deal. Having worked a lot in an operating theatre, I can tell you right now that blood goes EVERYWHERE and stays there, so having it on the swords isn't really a problem I think. Having said that, given the previous statement, I think there sho...

Re: PLOG - Death Night

Best recipe for blood I have is the Tamiya Clear Red, mixed with a little Chaos Black. Just keep mixing it and apply some initially, then as it goes 'hard' (which takes like 30 seconds) then it looks more like congealed blood/fleshy bits, so just wipe it on there too! You can check out my plog for h...

Re: Dark Elves of the Boiling Sea

The warrior in the front lost his head! Nice work on the mini though, really like the dark scheme and the gold is a really nice shade. Maybe the skin could have a little more colour to it, even cold ones like blues/purples just to distinguish it a little more from the armour. Otherwise I love it!
