Re: Bits Swapping - Australia, New Zealand & Asia

I've got a large amount of Dark Elves, Lizardmen, Tyranids, and a few dogs of war/random bits/character models/books/etc
I'm organising what I've got and looking to sell, so PM me if you're in NZ and are looking for anything in particular

Tactic ideas for my 1500pt tournament list

Hey guys, Haven't been on here in over six months as I went overseas and left my toys behind. Got back to my hometown just in time for a regional tournament of 1500pt 8th ed and chucked together a list to enter. I was a bit rushed and rusty, so my list isn't that great (got smashed by dwarves last n...

Re: Combined armies colour schemes?

Personally, if they're well painted and I just wanted to play with them, I'd keep them dual coloured. But if you didn't mind the fact in a year or two they may revert to being separate lists, and you wanted to make a cool looking combined army (maybe with a few conversions too) I bet it would look a...

Re: Conversion?

As long as its acceptable to the people you're playing against and yourself, then there isn't a problem. That said, I don't think you have to convert a lot of our characters. The old Executioner champion is great for Tullaris, for example. And conversions don't necessarily take a lot of time anywya....

Re: Funniest/most unreasonable deaths and kills

Combat between a group of warlocks and a soulgrinder (an unfortunate match-up). The soulgrinder didn't have many wounds left, but the warlocks attacking him didn't get any hits in.
He ended up dying from a kick from one of their steeds

Woof woof!
Watched Blackadder Back & Forth last night in commemoration (I wanted to watch the Young Ones episode where Rick talks about being martyred but I didn't have the DVD on hand).
Great actor. I'm just glad we got to see the great work he did do in his time

500pt Storm of Magic Game

I still haven't played many games under 8th edition, but there's a small storm of magic game day at my local store soon I thought I'd sign up to. There's also a big emphasis on bringing flaming units, as I think the plan is they want to use this day to sell the citadel woods and new treeman stuff. I...

Medieval Total War II Kingdoms has a huge mod for it called Rage of Dark Gods - Battle for the Empire . It's insanely good! Version 1.6 will be out soon. http://media.moddb.com/cache/images/mods/1/12/11923/thumb_620x2000/te11.jpg Blood Bowl is great apart from a ridiculously easy single player, but...

Re: [PLOG] - Reapers of the Dawn

I can appreciate the hesitation, Phierlihy. It's an unusual weapon for a corsair. And thanks for the kind words re: the paint job! It's a fluff-induced model, to be sure. I liked parts of the Fleetmaster model (basically all but the head/hair and sword leg), so I wanted to use it to build a fluffy ...

Re: I'm back! (After nearly 10 years....)

Welcome back! I played about 10 years ago back in the UK (not in the tourney scene, I was still a teenager), and stopped playing about 8 years ago. Recently got back into it with my girlfriend and now living in wellington NZ, if you're ever in the capital hit me up for a game

Bitzbarn Review

Not sure if this is the right board to write this, but anyway. Buying an army is expensive, even more so in New Zealand - and thanks to GW's policys most discount websites (which tend to be based in the USA or Europe) won't ship out of their trading zone. But trying to get a bit more for my money, I...

Re: Kit-bashed Pirate Dreadlord

Awesome job! That's the kind of kit-bashing I aspire to. As to the question about female armour, I'd just use a female head and a nice plate armour piece like the dreadlord bits from the dragon kit. The warrior breastplate looks silly, and once your dreadlord is bound under leather and all the rest ...

Is Malus Darkblade worth it?

I'm just writing up a rough list (using all models I own even if their unbuilt, so I have something to work towards). I have Malus Darkblade, and was trying to decide whether it's worth having him or not. The Not Just a Dumb Brute rule (auto-pass stupidity tests for the unit of COKs he's in) sounds ...

Re: Relatively Competitive List out of Limited Models

I agree wholeheartedly that corsairs are great as a core choice. Thing is, in your list, you've already reached your core allowance before taking the corsairs. Isn't the core allowance a minimum of 25% rather than a maximum? As in, you could take an entire army of core (other than your general), wh...

Re: Funniest/most unreasonable deaths and kills

Played a small friendly game with my gf today, her using my druchii and me using my lizardmen. Once i lost my wizard everything went downhill, and i ended up with just one cold one knight in combat with a unit of 7 darkshards. He held, and they spent a couple of phases with him occassionally causing...

Have other elves joined the Druchii in later years?

What I mean is, is there anything in the fluff about wood elves/high elves (or anyone else for that matter) switching sides, as it were? Or vice versa

Re: What to build? (lots of warrior models)

Judging from what I read on here (I haven't played in a while) we have better choices for core than spearmen, swordsmen, or crossbowmen. But spearmen and crossbowmen are still a viable choice, there are just better options. Personally I would make some into Crossbowmen, because they're killer in sma...

Thanks for the correction. Just looked up the Vanguard rule, that's a nice bonus to fast cavalry.
