Sympathy for Morathi

Have you read the lore in the new Battletome: Daughters of Khaine? I find that I have a lot of sympathy for Morathi. She's my favourite protagonist now and I'm definitely on her side. Basically, she has suffered beyond the imagining of it, and everyone is a jerk to her. She spent thousands of years ...

Re: Slaanesh

I voted that Slaanesh will be restored to her rightful position one day when Gav wakes up in the shower and realises that losing Slaanesh, destroying the world and making AoS was nothing but a horrible dream, and sets about putting things back as they should be... Not sure if that is what will happ...

Re: Witch Aelves

I use them, 20 and a cauldron just as you say. They've worked really well for me, but they can't be your battleline (regardless of what the Daughters of Khaine say!). You can march in support of another unit, so that the witch elves pile in when that unit gets charged, send them around the enemy's f...

Re: Slaanesh

I think that a) Slaanesh will be closely involved with the story of the new aelves, b) Morathi will be involved, and c) at least some aelves will embrace the pain-and-pleasure lifestyle that Slaanesh embodies, perhaps led by Morathi. 5) PG-13? I doubt it. If you've seen Mistweaver Shaih, she has orn...

Re: General Handbook Leaka

Ehh... kinda annoying, actually. I've just built a unit of 15 Black Guard, but now I have to either only use 10 of them or get another 5. Another annoyance. If I want to field a combined Dark Elf force rather than a half-baked not-really-a-viable-army from just one subfaction, then my only Battleli...

Re: What about Khaine?

All of the current aelven factions including the Daughters of Khaine live in Azyr, where Sigmar is not just the leader of the pantheon of gods, but also the ruler of the place. It's not really a question of 'believing' in him or not, when he's right there! It also happens to be the home of factions ...

See, that sort of thing is exactly why they voted 'Leave', to spite the likes of us. We've got to stop that.

Re: Topic of the Week - Pick your favourite Realm !

The obvious choice would be the Realm of Shadow, as it belongs to the Artist Formerly Known As Malekith, but remember that each Realm is a whole world as big as (or bigger than) the Old World, with room for every race and more. I remember reading a rumour that there would be death-cult aelves in the...

I added more Executioners, replaced the draich master I lost, and fixed them up with gold instead of silver on the shoulder pads, and I'm a lot happier with them now :)

Re: Holy **** Summoning

The best way to deal with summonings is to eat up their space. Summoned units appear within 18" of the summoner and more than 9" from any of your models, and that's not a very large area on a typical 6' by 4' table if your troops take the centre. Pretty soon they end up summoning them on t...

Re: Un-Welcome to the Age of Sigmar

No, companies such as Privateer Press, Wyrd Miniatures, and Mantic do not have great advertising reach. But they do have a very strong engagement with their player base. Wyrd even went so far as to publicly pilot its beta version of Malifaux 2.0, and then collected and incorporated the changes requ...

Re: Un-Welcome to the Age of Sigmar

So no. No prizes to be handed out there. That's not really a fair comparison. Mantic is a small business working out of a house. Games Workshop is a big, publicly-traded company with a massive fortress-like headquarters and their own factory, counting profits in millions of pounds. Mantic does the ...

Re: [Diary] Making a Dreadlady

Be careful though, $14.99 is for 'strong plastic' which will not be very well detailed or high quality for painting. You want 'ultra detail plastic', which is closer to what we're used to, and will cost you $24.99.

Re: Un-Welcome to the Age of Sigmar

GW's sales model has always baffled. For example, it's a well known understanding that shoppers will purchase in bulk if they believe that they will gain a saving that way. It's the basic principle of how numerous grocery stores, retail stores, general stores, and even "mom and pop" store...

Re: New Lore?

For old Warhammer that may be the case, but the lore of Age of Sigmar is under construction, and you have entire worlds to play in. The Sigmarites themselves are still exploring and discovering new races and civilisations (new to them, obviously, not to the people who live there), so there's no reas...
