BSB on Dark steed
Recently finished kitbash of a Ghrondian themed BSB. I like the Tiranoc chariot horse and the saddle was suprisingly easy to sculpt from green stuff although its not the most refined thing you'll see! I was more happy with the SDC.

Re: Dark Elves Starting Army
Put the sorceress with the dark shards, the blackguard would be the worst place to put her! I'd stick the dreadlord with the BGs. Ld 10 stubborn? Yes please. I'd invest in some Executioners too, they really are fantastic at what they do.

Not sure how to get the pics any bigger than that but this is my horde of Spearelves. They been painted over the 18 months I re-started the hobby so the back rank are not as good as the front!

-My own dice, purple with gold spots of course! -Combat calculator laid out neatly with the little score pegs corralled in the dice box. -Army books and paperback rules in easy reach with spell cards neatly placed behind the sorceress models. -Pot of superglue handy as I'm supernaturally clumsy. -Be...

Re: 9th Age; Background and Theme
As stated above, they need to have a functioning society (even a fictional Darwinian one) where not everyone is a borderline psychopath who might stab anyone at any moment. I think the Darkblade novels describe such a society very well. For example when Malus is tricked by T'zarkan into going on th...

Re: Steed Master and Battle Standard WiP
Thanks, I'm literally itching to paint them. I toyed with the idea of using the scourgerunner chariot horses but they actually look rather weedy with armoured dreadlords on them. I saw the tiranoc charitot horses used for dark elves before and really like the look of them. Also the high elf noble ho...

Steed Master and Battle Standard WiP
Hot on the heels of Halberd-lord I've commenced another kitbash. This time Steed mounted master and BS. A couple of 8th ed games recently and I've hit on the limitations of sticking a BS in a unit on foot. In the first game I failed crucial panic tests for the lack of a re-roll as the BS was stuck i...

Re: Dreadlord with halberd conversion
I'm working on two steed masters one of which will be a battle standard and a "sword and board" lord/master on foot. Experimenting with a bit more green stuff this time!

Re: Dreadlord with halberd conversion
Thanks very much! I wanted to go for a sort of pre-sundering nagarythian feel, the noble is still clad in the style of Ulthuan with scales, decorative breast plate, plenty of bright colours and shiney brasswork but begining to look more aggresive in style with skulls here and there and a big unglamo...

Dreadlord with halberd conversion
Hi all, this was a WiP when I did my peg master, its made of parts from 5 different models and I'm really proud of him! If anyone has any opinions or critiques that would be fantastic! KoW and 9th age have rekindled my modelling mojo, I'm currently working on a steed master. The current dark steed l...

Re: AoS-8th Campaign, opinions?
Not wanting to pop your bubble, but how will the last game work? Does everyone have square bases still? Then it could work... Personally I wouldn't mix different - yet similar - games. Also, I wouldn't give benefits to winners - I'd rather give benefits to the losers, as they clearly need it. If so...

AoS-8th Campaign, opinions?
Evening all, I've written some scenarios for AoS and strung them together in a loose campaign. This campaign follows a distinct series of scenarios to simulate and invasion of territory in order to find a lost artefact of great power which could be anything the players dream up from any time period ...

Re: Recommendations for mounted sorceress.
Thanks very much for your answers, I've just missed out on the bretonnian damsel on eBay! So taking your idea rowena I've had a think and maybe sisters of the thorn legs with the torso from the cold one sorceress may work. Sourcing the individual bits might prove a bit difficult however but they sho...

Re: [PLOG] Jorkar Warhost
I use would use heavy cavalry as small supporting flankers rather than a big block, with 6 S6 and 10 S4 attacks on the charge COKs are brilliant at this, also if they get stuck in combat 15 S4 attacks can't easily be shrugged off. 2 units of 5 cold ones would look great in two different colour schem...

Recommendations for mounted sorceress.
Hi all, I'm intending to convert a scourgerunner dark steed and make a peg sorceress. I hate the old mounted sorceress from the cold one model and have already used the sorc from the black dragon model on a dark steed. Does anyone recommend an alternative? I've looked at the old bretonniam mounted d...

Re: ETC voted for 9th Age
I've been studying the 9th age stuff and I must say it looks fantastic, I hope i can sell it to my gaming group! I like AoS but its not fantasy and it has too many elements of WFB missing that I love. Even Kings of War doesn't really satisfy so I hope I can get a game of 9th in soon!

Thanks for the close-ups much better now we can see the details. Have you thought about putting some edge highlights on the scales of the cloak? Great job all round! Pegmaster conversion.
Hi all, I've recently completed a Pegmaster conversion and wondered if anyone had any critiques or tips for future endevours. I managed to find an old 4th edition dark pegasus and bagged some dragon lord bits for the rider. I used part of the sea dragon cloak from the scourgerunner chariot beastmast...
