I had always expected that a Hag with Black Lotus lost her poisoned attacks (the "one poison only" thingie). Now I've reread the rules, and I can argue that she has both... but I doubt most opponents would accept it. Are there any official rulings on it?

... backing up the Noble who throws the enemy magic phase into disarray early in the game. Do you have a lot of succes with the Ring of Hotek? It seems that you really have to get into a perfect position to keep enemy Wizards within range. If a unit move 4" forward, and the Wizard changes his ...

@ Purple whisper: But it says that the attacker can choose US5 worth of models to attack the sorceress. It says that if a sorceress is involved in the fight , she can be attacked with US5 worth of models. I'm not sure what that means, but I can imagine that if the Sorceress is not among the US10 mo...

As opposed to, say, a Stegadon or a Giant, which are no where near as strong, and are therefore hindered by the trees. Sure.

Sorceress with a unit of 15 crossbowmen in a building? Shes safe right? WRONG! When the enemy assaults the building he can dedicate up to 5 of his 10 attacking models to attacking one character. For this reason you precious sorceress is highly likely to be killed by the weakest of assaulting troops...

I really doubt that the Hydra is supposed to be able to ignore difficult terrain. Sure, the rules suggest it, but it doesn't make sense, so I'd guess it is just some careless wording, which will be eliminated as soon as the first errata come out.

I think the answer to "why" is: because the current model does not have wheels :).

The point of a BM having a shield is to let him have the armour of darkness, which would make him much less vunerable. However, I agree that beastmaster special rules would be better IMO. I wasn't not opposed to him having a shield; I was merely saying it wouldn't solve it But giving him the Armour...

I think you need to take a bit more of a balanced approach towards revising the Druchii. Not to criticise all of you but I think people in general are focusing way too much on eliminating the army's weaknesses rather than simply balancing it out. I agree that the resulting list should be a balanced...

It is not true; a model that has failed a stupidity test is indeed Immune to Psychology and therefore cannot flee.

But isn't it true that we got that option already by the advantage that we can take manflayers as special choice instead of a rare choice? Well, with the Manflayers, you get a lot of other things that perhaps you do not want: Great Weapons, a Magic Banner and most of all, Mengil. This makes them to...

Re: So, about those slaves... (kidding!) DE revision thought

Sorceress - Would be nice for her to ride a DP but w/e. This might be a nice idea, but it also depends on how the magic rules will develop. If Dark Magic gains some range, this may not be necessary. High Sorceress - Ugh, costly. Reducing costs of magic level by 5-10 pts isn't ridiculous. VC get the...

Angelique is right. Poison is an option that makes shades too powerful. Remember that shades already have the rxb advantage when compared to asrai scouts or shadow warriors. Rxb allows them to cause much hits /damage with few models. As long as the point cost is right, there is no problem with Shad...

When playtesting for the revision, there was a trial for a Beastmaster as a level 1 Beasts wizard. I tested it, and it did not seem like a great idea. If there were several Sorceresses in the army, the Beastmaster became a glorified Power Familiar, providing a power die for use by the Sorceresses. A...

I am in favour of 20 Spearelves and 12 Crossbowelves (that's how I did mine :))

Three units of Crossbows is quite often overkill (unless you play 3000 points battles), since you can rarely get them all in a good shooting position.

I would say that an uberunit is a unit that can beat most enemies without support, while at the same time there are few unit/tactics that can take the unit down. This quite often means that if your opponent lacks the appropriate counterunit, he has a big problem, since your uberunit will be getting ...

Uses for Trolls

Does anyone have any decent uses/tactics for Trolls? I've tried fielding them in my Beastmen army, having them run along the unit of my Beastlord so they could use his leadership for the stupidity tests. Every battle, however, Stupidity and chaos would strike in order to drive them away from the Bea...

Indeed... An important part of the "problem" (to call it so) is that they are rather expensive and rather vulnerable at the same time. They are to easily taken down by magic and shooting, and because of the point cost, it is worth doing so.

The Hydra still has a save. Yes, he has a save. But the two Apprentices don't. Compared to the other "big" monster's, I feel they are a big Achilles' heel to the Hydra. They are well protected against regular fire and reasonably protected in close combat (there'll usually be one that can ...

I'm surprised no-one mentioned the Empire Pistoliers yet. They are slower (M7) and less reliable (Ld 7) than Dark Riders, but they can severly outdamage them with those dual pistols. I'll have to go (reluctantly) with the Executioners. The Witch Elves can easily tear through lightly armoured units, but those are opponents I do not have that much problems with. My problems lie with heavily armoured units, and Witch Elves are almost worthless against those. So, I prefer the Execut...
