Hi all, I am looking for one or two Black Guard halberds , the two-handed versions which come as a separate part with some of the BG miniatures. I know it may end up being a single small item being sent in the mail, but I'd be happy to send an SAE for it! I have a range of DE and general Undead bitz...

Ah, ta muchly for that! Hate it when they fling up stuff like that with nothing in the rulebook to back it up . I shall now duly take more care with my Scouting ;) .

Thought of another horror for taking on Daemon characters: Cauldron of Blood and the Web of Shadows. I know, it's all down to how much you roll for those 2D6 hits, but when you're rerolling to wound with no saves.... And (WoS is only 25pt right?) there's then the points left for Manbane and an extra...

I'd go with your original idea of an Assassin with the Blade of Ruin. If you've a Cauldron of Blood to throw into the mix, the unlucky charging Cavalry unit will find itself taking 3 S4 hits with no AS, rerolling to hit and wound! That's gotta hurt against your average-sized cavalry unit :D!

I've been tinkering with different assassins since I finished my Cauldron, as I'd like to keep Cauldron-toting armies fluffy. While the RoK+Manbane combo is a firm favourite (good for Dwarf war machines and the like), one of my more devious favourites at the moment is for taking on Daemon armies. He...

I'd say it's more because there are very few magic items that continue working once the owning character is knobbled.

They'd have been better advised to call it the Witch Icon or Witch Brand or Witch Spanner, just so's there wouldn't be this pesky ambiguity.

Here's an interesting point: the Executioners aren't listed as having Killing Blow as a result of their Draichs, it's an inherent ability. You could therefore opt not to use the great weapons in a combat (if you wished to strike first say, against a low-T opponent), and still thrill to the sight of ...

oh well how do u sort out the rules for a lordling with x bow??? he has 2 attacks and the crossbow fires 2 umm... Doesn't mean you get 4 shots. As said most succinctly above, the Attacks stat is for Combat only. A missile weapon will shoot once only in the shooting phase no matter who carries is, u...

Frankly the Dark Elf book cover is a shambles compared to what the others got . It's just a stylised gothic shadow-fest which could be the front cover of a dozen or more awful fantasy "novels". The upshot of all this is that nothing on there should really be taken at face value :( .

A little bit. Every Undead unit's best chance is to break you on the charge, thanks to be an outnumbering Fear causer. This rule completely denies them that opportunity. Apart from that though it's pretty sound. It's only 1 CR point lost, so not hugely nasty to the opponent, but allows Elven units t...

Eclipse needs a different name, 'cos blotting out the sun really isn't an innate power, for anyone (except maybe the odd Slaan). PoB (my vote) should not ignore saves, it becomes far too powerful. You're looking to pick off ickle infantrymen with it, not cause Panic in units of Chosen Knights (could...

That would leave all non-Elves whining. Remember the wailing when the Citizen Levy rules came along? No, I think that what is needed is a rule to go in the WFB Rulebook itself, not the Army Books, which is what makes Azkor's original idea all the more inspired (wish I'd thought of it!). The Discipli...

I like the fire and charge option but think it is too complicated ruleswise. Surely no more complicated than "Fire and Flee"? And while it is very Druchiin, someone's already beaten us to it. Call themselves "Ew-mance" and refer to it as a "Fusillade Charge". Effectively . I do love the idea though...

idlike to include 360 degrees LOS for Hydra..what does evrybody think about it?? Remember the horror and dismay when we heard that Jezzails could do that? I think other gamers will baulk at the idea of a 3 ton killing machine that can charge off in any direction it likes, much less breath fire!

You honestly think Neferata's a good model?? Given how deeply hardcore the lady is, her spindly, unadorned, large-headed, crappy-weaponed model is hardly flattering. She looks like she's sucking a lemon!! Can't see anyone, even an Orc Warboss, being "Beguiled" or "Transfixed" by that! Ahem...anyway,...

Always bear in mind which units he can't bring back. If you can knock out units of things like Dire Wolves, Ghouls, Fell Bats etc early on, he will be left with clunky infantry blocks, on which you can then train your missile fire. If you are given to shooting people he may take the Banner of 5+ War...

Be prepared for opponents to whine if you max out on your RBTs! It's only natural, they are inordinate killing engines! Don't be afrain to use some of the more unusual units, such as Executioners or Black Guard. Exes can fit into a MSU army, but BG benefit from being in wide-frontage blocks (unfotun...

Beware! Beware! (Pink elephants on parade!) Ahem.... those Harpies may very well fail their fear test to charge the Ghouls, who would likely rip them asunder anyway. Harpies against Undead is a bad idea I'm afraid, 'cos they can't even use your general's groovy leadership!

Now that has potential, although Orcs generally make poor slaves! You could replace weapons with sticks, bones etc, model over armour, and use lengths of cheap chain to hobble them from wrist to ankle, or chain all their wrists together. you could even attach chains to any Orcs wearing metal collars...
