Uncomped Death is insane. I have played with a mounted death lvl4 with ETC-comp lately and she wrecks face. The ability to get into position with the 18" fast cav move and then throw Purple Sun is really great. If you have some Warlocks as well, you can have a double casting of Doombolt already...

I honestly don't rate the Cold Ones. I think you will find that your characters become to restricted and that your bus will die quickly against armies with decent shooting. How about playing around with fewer mounts, but using pegs instead? There are some good builds floating around on the internet.

Darkshards are core, which is easily their greatest asset. Dark Riders are better, but the comparison to Shades and RBTs is not a good one. You are undoubtedly going to be picking them over Darkshards, but they won't fill your core.

I am liking the idea of some Shades though. I can actually have quite a lot of them if I drop one or both unit of Harpies and maybe a bolter as well. I will have to think about this. This is what I like about getting advice and creating discussion.

Warlocks do not have Shroud of Despair under current ETC-restrictions. There are noe End Times magic in the ETC rules pack.

You only get impact hits from the front rank, so that is not very effective.
