Mm, aye, experience goes a long way. That all sounds good though, so I'll fiddle with it, like you said Asikari. And I've found assorted templates and ideas for Drop Pods around online that look fair as a substitute. I've heard it around elsewhere that they don't get the use they might because of th...

I would have liked to work in a Dreadnought, but the points didn't work out like I wanted them to. I'm a big fan of having a bunch of men instead of a machine that, however deadly, can be blasted apart by a heavy weapon. That said, I do like the idea of drop-pod-ing one of those lovely walking tanks...

Drop Pods: Useful as fluff presents, or a waste?

First off, I offer the following disclaimer in case any of what I say here is ignorant/backward: I pretty much have no background playing 40K, but I am enjoying a recent spirited drive to learn. I even have a bunch of minis already, since I love to paint them. But I don't have anyone around to play ...

I'm deffinately going to wait. I don't really have the capital to collect any of it right now anyway, heh. But I'm not liking that it looks like the heavy weapon platform comes standard with the guardians. Kinda throws a wrench at the mobility theme I'm going for. I'm all for big guns shooting down ...

Well that does throw some proverbial monkeys into my design. But...I guess I can't really complain, heh. No grenades means more points spent on more rifles, I suppose.

Thanks folks, I appreciate the input!

That sounds good and reasonable to me, thanks Loki. Sometimes all a fellah needs is some grounding in the basic rules of troop selection. ~.^ I thought up another question though. Are plasma grenades worth it? It seems to me that in a setting like Cityfight they would be quite a boon, but I don't re...

Guardians or Dire Avengers?

So, I've been on a Cityfight binge lately, with terrain and article-reading, etc. I've decided to start putting together an Alaitoc Eldar army, but I keep running into dilemmas (probably not a rare occurance with Eldar >.>). My army idea is to be a fast force with assorted assault elements, rangers,...

OOC: Alas, ye my children, I have failed you. >.< I've been doing so much busy stuff lately getting ready for my upcoming college adventure, finding employment, dealing with bureaucracy, I've neglected this place. OOC: Sweet holy monkeys, Batman. Being a server at a restaurant is really hard and super-stressful if never done before. Forgive my tardiness on these grounds...I'll try and do what I can soon. All your level-up stuff was fine, btw.

Other answers: -No throwing daggers in the loot. -My Moderation-posts will come in when something happens that calls for it. I will monitor your posts as they come in, and when there is somethi...

OOC: Oh, how I long for the old days when this RPG was so much more player-driven, as opposed to Mod-driven. And how I long for the old days before I had to worry about college entrance exams and all that crap. But my rambling does have a point: I'm not going to provide you all with another mission,...

OOC: A quick comment or two. One to Morvai...Thank you for presenting your protestation politely. However: Everyone here in this Group probably has a busy life, and I know I certainly do; but somewhere in a week's time, is it really so hard to find one hour to post? It probably isn't. Another consideration is the fact that the Rohan riders are fairly regimental looking in their dress. They all have similar equipment, similar armor, helmets, etc. I don't quite see how that looks savage, myself. The scale issue really is a doozie though...I did a conversion recently where I shaved ...

OOC: Before I start, I'm going to put down a picture of where things stand, for all our sakes, since it's been such a long time since there was action. Kynth is around the bottom of the stairs, near the last enemy down there; Mel’Reyna is lying on her side there as well. Nargoth is kneeling on the s...

This was just the break the break the attacking forces were waiting for, and on several of their faces an eager grin was to be seen. Their adversaries were assuming roles, swapping weapons, and sounds of division upstairs could be caught by keen elven ears. The remaining eight of the ruffians did n...

OOC: What a craptacular day Sunday was. I was expecting to have a quiet day…post here, maybe work in some video games or other RPG-ing…But no. On the very same day, both the furnace AND the solar panels on the roof that help heat the house’s water malfunctioned. So, I spent the fir...

OOC: No map. Too busy with all the stuff I directly dislike. The hallway is as wide as mentioned, and about 25 feet long from stairs to window. Seven rooms open up off of it, three on one side, four on the other. Most of the doors are locked.

Heartbeats passed seemingly in silence but for the clattering in the kitchen as more attacking filed in through there, the two forces sizing each other up. It did not last long, however, and the room exploded into action in short order. Dkaraii reacted with typical Shade swiftness, tipping his tabl...

I would like to add something to Morvai's post above. Being creative with your character's background is very good, and writing as much as you can about it provides Mods and other players with more detail and insight into your character. However...there is such a thing as being too creative. A chara...
