Re: Any future?

Yes sad indeed - even after a major release in the past few months with Daughters and Deepkin. I really think GW have themselves to blame for this mess, they have well and truly nerfed the community since end of times. Sad times indeed. What mess? AoS is doing fine, and both new aelven factions hav...

We've taken up warmaster, and gone back to man o war. Warmaster is a great set of rules. man o war is a bit over simple but fun.

The timeline needed to be rolled back to forge the Storm of Chaos debacle, that GW weren't prepared to develop... That much is true. I wonder is they were prepared to develop it with the other outcome. I was very heavily involved on the side of the empire and friends. All along we felt that GW expe...

But I think we can agree that 8th is far from perfect, but respectively disagree whether its the superior version to date (Which I think it is). There are things that I think need to be done to polish and tweak it though. I found this bit interesting. I don't think it's the best edition, I don't th...

Wow cornix, you've really summed up what most of my group thinks about the game now that we've all gotten several games in. The Homogenisation issue has been creeping up since 6th but we've noticed it more I think this edition. Most of our armies look very similar now. On first read though I thought...

I like the red a bit better, but take that with a grain of salt. I'm kind of bad at picking colors myself.

I've not subscribed in years. I remember back in the day the New Dogs of war regiments all came out in White Dwarf. Those were worth it. Also the tiles, small scale game, lots of interesting stuff. They used to also send a mini to subscribers (maybe only once or twice they did that). Then they turne...

Once again, GW's unofficial motto is at work: If in doubt, put the price up. Yet more reasons to purchase from alternative suppliers: you can get the vast majority of these troop choices for much cheaper by purchasing alternative models these days. GW seems to still believe that they have a monopol...

I definitely encourage you to play (or at least try out) 8th edition. In fact, Im surprised that there are still people who haven't made the transition form 7th to 8th. This mostly comes from the let down that was 6th/7th (we've been playing a modified version- maybe closer to 5th but with tighter ...

Ok after looking up ETC I can say I think you've missed the point of what we were talking about entirely. I'd agree with you, ETC looks awful. We're not really concerned about how many power dice you generate. We might occasionally discuss if the cards were more fun the the dice (general verdict- th...

I've played since third myself, and all editions have had issues without a doubt. I really do want your opinions or I wouldn't bother coming and looking for them. It was fully possible GW made and awful product that most people hated. It's happened before, it'll happen again. I seem to remember your...

Opinions on 8th ed.

So, I also raised this question on Ulthuan.net and a couple of the mods seem not to appreciate it at all. Not sure why, they just seem to dislike questioning GW. I hope that's not a problem here. In short my gaming group has (finally) started to move to 8th (if we like it). Parts of it seem alright,...

Good job on the campain (it was a bit static, but hey what can you do, other then learn a bit). The early days were a lot of fun. The fluff was also very good, until that last bit. I realize there were reasons for it, and don't blame you guys (I know who I do blame though). But that ending was as aw...

Sure play your dark elves at what ever site you want. But play your undead at the site they belong. This is set up pretty nice, but I hope players are keeping as close to the fluff that's been set up as possible. I don't want a bunch of Empire players secureing the wrath gate for us, not when they c...

The undead have their own site and everything. Wouldn't it make more sence for the vampires and what not to fight there?

Empire wins

I just want to make sure we've got this right before I tell our empire player the wrong thing. I'm guessing he should report his victiores/losses as fighting for the CoP since Empire is not an option.

Man O' War

My gameing group has gotten very excited about Man O' War again (digging the rulebooks out of my parent's attic probably helped). Anyway, we were wondering if we could count these games for the campain. We have HE, 2 DE, Empire and Bretonnian fleets. The though is that we'll report the games to the ...

Um...how, exactly?

Easy, it proves we have so much power you can't even have a civil war without our permission.

Ah, actually what I'm doing is useing the old PG models (beacuse I have a bunch) with DE tridents. I've also decided on the wiremesh to make a few nets.
