Re: 750 pts learning list
If your goal is learning the game I'd suggest sneaking some magic caster in there - either the warlocks or replacing your master with a sorceress. That'll get you involved in every stage of the turn and maybe allow a broader base of learning over the next few months. Hope that's a useful line to thi...

Re: Druchii Monstrous Cavalry? Ice Panthers!
Awesome idea. The artwork on the Magic The Gathering 2015 card "Frost Lynx" would be perfect for this concept - all icy, glaring evil with long twisted ears and glowing eyes.

Interesting to see you painting them without the arms - I have to say, I think it's a great idea. Just assembling my first models to paint and I think I will borrow/steal that idea!

Thanks for the link - some really useful info there, but he doesn't touch on the makeup!

Witch elf eye shadow and rouge
I'm hoping for some tips/advice on how the GW box art Witch Elf makeup was painted.
I'm guessing it's a little of the flesh colour mixed with pink/blue and then applied in lots of thin, watered down layers like a glaze.
Would really appreciate thoughts from those that have tried it. Thanks!

Re: Female heads.
... my converted Shades , you can see two of the heads used in a Dark Elven-setting. Ace work on these - again the sterner, neutral expressions work so much better for the Shades than the typical "screaming" GW Dark Elf female. My two packs just shipped - can't wait. One is going straight...

Re: Female heads.
@Cult: I think the Zealot site is selling different ones - they look much less symmetrical, though the paint job might be part of that. @Lion: The OP links to the site, they're a company called "Statuesque Miniatures" (to whom I have no connection!). My only worry is if GW will have an iss...

Ace - thanks for all the advice. Just starting the assembly and paint on the Cold Ones. Can't wait to get it on the table! Will let you know how things progress.

Re: Female heads.
These are pure perfection. I really need a female head for my Dreadlord on Cold One conversion, and love the stern, steady gaze of these. Lots of the Dark Elf female heads are screaming, which doesn't feel right for the cold tactician general. FYI, they're listed as out of stock on the website, but ...

Re: Depredations of the Hydra
Salmaat is so utterly, dictionary definition awesome. He needs a Twitter account. Maybe a few, so each head gets its own social outlet. Just read the whole account mesmerised at Waterloo and missed two trains. Definitely need to find room for one of my own in my force. Absolutely love your dramatise...

Re: Criticism on 1,500 starter army greatly valued
Thanks for the extra thoughts. Trying to balance them all out, I'm now leaning towards a v2 as follows; 1x Dreadlord, Heavy armour, Sea dragon cloak, Lance, Charmed shield, Cloak of twilight, Cold one; 234 1x Master, BSB, Cold One, Sea dragon cloak, Lance, Shield, Iron curse Icon; 126 Embedded with;...

I'd note that there are an awful lot of the mounted Morathi and mounted Bretonnian damsel models on eBay - one of them might help, though you need to chop them in half.

Re: Dark Elves and Allies?
I have to say I do very much like the idea of Skaven allies, just for the wildly Machiavellian backstory it'd necessitate. The mutual sneering, deception and opportunistic backstabbing is all such fun to imagine I'm tempted to go down that route, even though current rules seem to doom such an allian...

Thanks Amboadine - I do get up to Blackpool (in laws) once a month or so, so let me know if you're that side of North! Otherwise the list is now live if you did want to check it out - http://www.druchii.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=75567. Looking at the other discussion in e lists forum I real...

Re: Criticism on 1,500 starter army greatly valued
Thanks again Taijushue - really good of you to put time into this; it's greatly appreciated. To your earlier point re: the witches lack of saves, would it make sense to change one of the two units for something else like Black Guard or Execs? I'd originally gone with one large unit so I could get a ...

Re: Criticism on 1,500 starter army greatly valued
Hey Taijushue - thanks for the thoughts; really useful. Splitting the witch elves sounds like a great idea. I'm terrified about their lack of saves. In growing the army to 2,000 I'll take a Cauldron, and some more, and maybe they'll start to be more dependable. I have a big conversion in mind for th...

Criticism on 1,500 starter army greatly valued
This list has had a quick round one on Warseer, but some specialist Druchii advice would be massively useful. The idea is a solid block of Witch Elves and Cold Ones with general in the centre of the table, with two small cavalry units on each wing to irritate, incite and pull enemy off course. Ideal...

Greetings - London based, ex-Dwarf player reincarnated
Hi all - hopefully everyone is having bright start to the new week! Just a quick introductory post to say hello. I'm a London based Warhammer player, coming back to the game after an embarrassing ten year hiatus. I played Dwarfs before, but the mercurial shenanigans and villainy of the Dark Elves al...
