I think these are good idea's. But those only provide interesting battles without real value, if you take my meaning. What does 'owning this bridge' or 'ambushing that' effect on your campaign? Expanding these idea's with a little resource managment could really get the best out of these battle opti...

For imperial purple, anyone tried midnight blue with liche purple? I don't have liche with me, but I do have midnight and imperial. They resemble in a way so a bit of liche purple or some red might bring em close together.

Actually, he was to join the spearmen, giving that unit the extra punch needed to kick some... behinds. The noble with CoK's will make the CoK your toughest, but lonely, unit. I cannon or countercharge can end this so I fear that putting the noble with the Knights is risky. Often 7 harpies is all yo...

Give em any color you want. You can paint em white or blue, red or green. There are several pictures available in the album under units. If you wish to use a flat colour, maybe try nmm (non-metalic method). You paint em in a solid colour and fake the shiny effect with well placed highlights. It tend...

Here's a Tip for VC that worked very well against my DE army. A unit of ghouls on the flank, but held back a little so they can't be charged too easely in the front. Those guys have 2 poisoned attacks, skirmish and T4 so a small unit of 10 could hold a charge of most units, even some tougher ones an...

[Army Fluff] Daeron's Story - Prologue

Hello, I finally started writing the fluff for my army and main character Daeron. The prologue however is about Daeron's dad and Daeron's origin. I shall post all chapters of the prologue in this topic. Feel free to ask questions in between. Comments are more than welcome (concerning fluff, story an...

You have a very 'clean' way of painting. You paint every surface with a solid coat of paint. It gives you very pretty mini's with solid colours. I myself am a bit more fond of texture like drybrushing and more highlights. I find it gives a more darkish look. But I can only conclude with: you have gr...

the colours used and in which order are written in the comment.
It's a nice scheme, but you can easely change it to your own liking. I highly suggest you do: kinda give it your own personal touch.

Cool. I'll use that now & then :)

And Vorchild: Animated dice?? So a picture with the result for each dice? hmm... could work, but that would double the size of the program :)

Dice program - For everyone who wans to use it

Hello everyone, I wrote this Dice program. It will simulate dice rolls for you, as many as you want and with the number of sides you want. It returns a little table with the information on your throws for each side of the dice: the number of dice with this value, the number of dice that have the sam...

Well, here's a unit that works well against dwarves: 20 (or more) spearmen with Noble & BSB (Dread Banner) + chariot or CoK's. The dark riders serve to negate ranks while the 20 spearmen with a noble and BSB chop a few heads. You win combat by a few points, get outnumbering and cause fear so off...

I agree with that. But don't you need units which will reliably chop of the heads? CoK's ain't choppin if they fail their test. same goes for the CoC. I already stated these feableties. T-They can be overcome, yes, but I must admitt that this unreliability makes elves even harder to play well: - few...

Big contrast is the way to go if you want a dark model that has not lost too much detail. See my pic: m I'm not saying these are suitable colours but the models really give a darkish look while some bright colours have been used. A base of midnight blue A drybrush of enchanted bly final highlights w...

This might sound lame but I have beaten Dwarves solely by victory points. I used more Dark Riders and a bigger unit of Harpies. I charged my harpies and dark riders on his cannon's and gyrocopter. By turn 3 he had no more cannon's or gyrocopter. By turn 6 no other combat had taken place but: Since I...

It seems part of my 'problem' flows from my lack of experience with MSU. I have tried this tactic before but apparantly I should consider giving it more time. I have never seen it work to full effect due to some of my points stated in the beginning.

Well... seems MSU answers many prayers. But since you put so many points in small units, you kinda lose the 'specialised' aspect of the DE's. For example: if you use up your special choices for small units of Exe's... you're weak against a shooty army. So you'll need to add some Harpies and Shades, ...

Sin, good advice, but when it comes to tooling, you are not always allowed to in tournaments. Nor can you always predict your foe. Then what do you do? I have made a couple of anti-VC, anti-HE, anti-E armies, even one against dwavres. They work great! But these lists differ so much that they are har...

MSU pretty much defines instability. No small unit can hold combats for a little while, nor hold off a charge. MSU tries to compensate this by overwhelming the enemy on all sides. Not a bad idea but an offensive enemy will likely punch a few holes through your defense and a defensive army will likel...

The instability of the Dark Elves

Hello, I just wanted to point out a few downsides of the Dark Elf army. I just been thinking that all in all... the Dark Elves have no strong unit that is really reliable. Though I never tried it myself I have seen many people convert basic warriors to Executioners. Usually done by removing the shaft from the spears and glueing the blade directly onto the hands.
Shades can be done in a similar way. give em a sword and a RxB.
