Re: Arnzipal's Black Horror and Steam Tanks

Edit: DON'T rely on magic as your only solution - you never know when you'll miscast horribly on turn 1 and get steam rollered. Again. I've played druchii since they first came out in 6th edition and if theres one thing I've learnt its that we are an army that can do something in every phase: partic...

Re: Dark Riders and RXB

Get a unit of 10+ in two ranks and they can negate ranks again - right? Pop a hunter Master in there and a few more models (unit of 12/14?) and without the Crossbows (unless you want a mobile firebase) and you're in business!

Personally I think theres better ways to spend those points however... :P

Re: Arnzipal's Black Horror and Steam Tanks

Edit: apologies, went a bit off topic - didn't realise this thread was concerned with Black Horror! Heres my suggestions anyway! Heres 4 ideas for you using mounted (non flying so you can hide in units from those nasty cannonballs) Masters... Master Lance, Heavy Armour, Sea Dragon Cloak Dark Steed /...

Re: Bloodwrack Medusa + Babysitter

I've just thought: why not use shades to cover the Medusa's advantage and give it some shooting protection? Coupled with a character with high magic resistence (ring of hotek use?), you'd have magic protection, shooting protection and a screen to stop you frenzy charging by accident - both units can...

Re: Dealing with a Frostheart Phoenix and Other Mobile Monst

Surely using Shadow Magic is one of the best ways? Withering would make it far easier to deal with. Yes its a spell and requires casting but then its probably far easier to do that than corner it with infantry considering the thing has wings... If it engages you, you could stop its damage output by ...

Re: Bloodwrack Medusa + Babysitter

I guess somebody read that thread and the unit concept we concocted in the Ideas Forum eh Tyrannus Deathbringer?! A pity that their final result is a rather perplexing one - the model clearly has Scaly Skin and yet no save, the ability to march and not be able to stare at someone is a little strange...

Re: Dark Riders and RXB

I've found Dark Riders to be infinitely useful in my most successful list before the new book ( see The Death by 1,000 Cuts armylist here ) and with their price drop AND the fact that they no longer lose being Fast Cav whilst equipped with shields is a huge boon! Although the items and character bui...

Re: Sorceress with Cloak of Twlight

Clint Eastwood character of a San Fransico cops from the 70s and 80s. Biggest quote is "Go ahead, make my day." Add in snarl here. You're totally right, I was thinking of Harry Brown - which made me confused regarding the age thing! I've not been on any wargaming forums for some time, alt...

Re: BR: 2500 DE vs. HE

Nice write up HERO and I enjoyed your book review too although I'm already seeing some disgusting combo-age using frenzy and the availability of all lores to DEs now, however thats a discussion for another time! I liked your write up although it'd be easier to read if you noted what turn number you ...

I like my sorceress to not wear any clothes... Erm, disturbing concepts aside, that is one very unusual combo you have there - I tried a Sorceress on Dragon once with Pendent, Chillblade and The Other Trickster Shard. However in your combo I don't think that the Hydra Blade is really worth it in any...

Focus familiar is for extended range, and also can be used to set the sun off from, so I can exploit terrain without being in too much danger. Sorry bud but I don't think thats quite right, I believe the spell says it is placed in contact with the wizards base - the focus familiar is not the wizard...

hiya guardmaster! Welcome to druchii.net bro I like your Dreadlord build - the 1+ save, pendent, extra attack form whip + egg means he should cut through any horde like a jagged knife! Indeed - the use of the Cauldron / ASF Hag becomes increasingly versatile as soon as you put a Witch Elf horde alongside the Executioners: suddenly now you have two (VERY) viable options to stash the Hag AND to use the Cauldron buffs: - ASF witches are obviously of MOST use against our hated asur ki...

ETC Team Dragon: Black Dragon + Executioner horde [round 2]

Sooo... I thought, I wondered what a Dragon + Executioner horde + multi-attack + Cauldron + chaff/redirectors would be like. It seems that this adheres to ETC rules. I'd love to see what it'd be able to do on the tabletop Dreadlord: 572 Heavy Armour, Sea Dragon Cloak Whip of Agony, Enchanted Shield,...

Take 30+ (40s better) of them with a Cauldron (5+ ward save all the time unless desperate) and slam them hard and fast at the enemy's face: the +1 movement or Leadership Banner is also good on them. Yes, they will get beaten down over the course of a whole game, but oh boy do they smash up whatever ...
