A warhammer DE player showed me the dark elves. I was interested immediately. If he had shown me any of the other armies, I will not be involved in this hobby at all.

Personally I feel that they are rather good and fun.

I use 2 units. 1 unit of 12-20 RXB with shields for shooting and counterattack when needed.

The second unit consist of just a detachment of 10 with no shields. Why no shields? I modelled them like this since a long time ago and somehow they survive well...so I spend the points elsewhere

In addition to the above, I would like to add two armies, Skaven and Lizardmen.

Seems like these armies were never weak....at least for the last 3 editions that I play in.

I actually can see the logic of his list...15 men units, 6-8 execs. In my opinion, it's a good list. However I feel a dragon's taking of an extra hero slot is too big a penalty. I rather take a manticore (with a bit of skill, he can be as effective as a dragon) and use the points for a 2nd melee hero.

I believed that they are deployed in 3 blocks rather than lines. Based on 7th ed rules, it is possible to for rear rankers to shoot a large target.

I think we have all come to the conclusion that the ring and hatred are both powerful but not broken. We need these to survive the cheese of the 7th edition which sadly is rather prevalent.
