I'm pretty sure that bolts only randomise onto a character in a chariot on a 6, so its not really worth it to try and get characters that way.... needless to say a character on foot with out it chariot is a much easier target though.

if you don't want to go down the magic path you can leave your sorceresses at home. Take the seal and the ring on masters/hags and then use the points to get a magic weapon on some COKs so when you charge there vamp he dies [havn't got a book at hand, but I think the seal is enchanted or a talisman,...

My experience is limited, but like with every question of this nature you could ask, it depends what you take it with. I would say that if you take enough troops to still have units that can effective use it towards the end of the battle, and protect it through out, then it can be very effective. On...

Ha ha! thats awesome! i saw toms hardware do it with veg oil a few years back, but after a while the oil makes the PCB's disintegrate. They suggested some special submarine grade cooling oil, but its nice to see there's a cheaper option! I think i might have to try this one day with an old computer!

Fenthick shows a little smirk "hmm, Its funny how you're all quick to vote your comrades to die." Fenthick props his elbows on the table and leans forward. "You might try listening more, before you open your mouth to speak. That way you don't need to keep changing your mind and incrim...

[off topic] It seems i've been a bit stupid! I only read through the first page before post, not noticing it was longer. Weather you call my character fenthick or Mr_Piechee, i suppose doesn't really matter, we all know who we mean. I guess since piechee has been used more we should keep it at that....

Sat at the end of the table was a hooded fellow, slightly hunched. His head lay deep in a hood, hiding his age and his many many scars. Fenthick was possibly the oldest Druchii round the table, but held the lowest rank. He was never looked upon kindly by officers of any rank - he seemed to offend th...

Get onto apples website, go to mac pro, click the 8 core one, and then tick every box you can. comes to about £16k i think, can't remeber... 32GB of ram, 4TB hard disk space. The only problem lies in the graphics cards. you can either have 4 fairly average cards, or on that is good but not for its c...

Good point Layne!!!! missed that one! As for chariots and spear chukkas. If the Chukkas are 2 for 1 special its possible. In OnG chariot mounts don't take up a special choice if taken for a character. so you simply have all 4 characters (at 2k) in chariots, and use one special choice for the 5th. th...

Can we still take giants? two of them will deal with this problem. That aside, like whats been said, a couple of units of shades with an assassin in each, with the chariot kill combo. The assassins can deal with orks on the charge, and chariots from range. Great weapons on the shades means you can g...

are there many shops in the deepest pits in a hell of your own making? I suppose that if its a hell of your own making then the stereotype of hell being on fire may not be the case, so books might survive... But shops in hell kinda hints that hell isn't all that bad...

Does anyone know where to get corum from? Both waterstones and amazon only have used copies... It seems the beginning of the series is out of print.

In the previous topic the "A Song of Ice and Fire" was mentioned allot - is it of similar style, and as good?

Recomended books continued

A long long time ago I read through this thread , and bought Elric Of Melnibone. This was an awesome book, and i was wondering if any other books in the series are as good? [babble]I'm currently reading the black library Darkbalde book, and although i hated the beginning I'm really getting into it n...

I think that 1 and 2 are the same thing, and i don't agree with 3 and 4. however deathknight has added another good one, stupid hard hitters. Both chariots and CoK aren't reliable enough, however this is somewhat balanced out but hydra's (hydree?) and character mounts. Its not quite a replacement, s...

Its likely its on a 40*40 base. I think it would work better in an undead army. As cool as the model is, trying to fit it into a elven army is just not going to work well...

could take the High Elf lions and convert them into Chimeras. have two on a base, and add dragon heads for fire. Or you could make them both two headed dog like things. A quick google search reveals these for temple dogs. Also look here and scroll to the bottom of the page. I think a pack of animals...

a little while ago there was a thread about making a chariot from plasticard. It looked pretty good, and on a table top you would struggle to tell the difference. using this idea you could make the chariot slightly bigger and raise Malekith up onto a fighting platform. 3 cold ones could be arranged ...

It looks like you have the wings on the pegasus at the wrong angle. They should be flat rather than vertical. At the moment it looks like they are great air breaks rather than wings. A different angle. The sorceress is in an attacking position so it would make sense that the peg is landing, in whic...

i would be tempted to split the witch elves up and go with two naked units. Witch elves are a funny unit. They are devastating with just one rank, but still not worth shooting cause they cost so little.

the reason i said to keep the campaign separate and not have it impact on the army books is, like deathknight pointed out, because it simply wouldn't work. As its been mentioned many times before, GW would never have a campaign where the druchii invade, because there are lots more dark elf players, ...
