Re: Raging Heroes Kickstarter is open!

Yes, I really can't wait for the next update. About the sorceress... I'm pretty sure we'll end up getting her even though we already have two sorceresses on foot, she's just that awesome. But I'm afraid we'll end up wanting all the models, including the sisters. We'd probably have to start playing S...

Re: Building armies without GW

I think I have overestimated myself with the Chaos Dwarfs. I can find alternative ranges when I can look at the official models, but in this case I have almost nothing and no idea what the stuff should look like. Forgeworld has something, but the rest would require more research. I have downloaded t...

Re: Building armies without GW

Thanks, everyone. I'm glad to be helpful. And I look forward to Dark Elves as well, ll those pretty Raging Heroes models I can put there. That's why I'm waiting for the already overdue update on their KS. r530: Thanks! I actually came here to post about the update, good to see it was noticed anyway....

Vampire counts added. (And I apogise for slowing down, the rest of the armies will be made, it will just take longer.)

Re: Building armies without GW

I have added Tomb Kings (still going by the strategy of doing the difficult armies first). Also, if anyone has experience (good or bad) with any miniature making company, please let me know, either here or directly on the blog. Thanks a lot!

Re: AoS: Being a Heretic and modelling/painting Khorne stuff

These are top class, you have managed to make them very gritty and much more realistic looking than I would have expected from the models. (That's a good thing, you actually made me like the models. :) )

Re: AoS New Terrain - Looks Exciting!

If they are going all out with this type of terrain for Khorne - I have high hopes for the other races/factions they release. I always thought GW did not do enough with terrain for the different armies, a missed opportunity. Actually, I would more expect them to do a Sigmarite alternative and then ...

Re: Building armies without GW

I have updated the blog with Ogre Kingdoms alternative list and with a post on individual suppliers , inspired by Red's warning. The latter needs more input because I have never ordered from most of the companies listed, so if you have any notable experience or anything relevant, please let me know ...

Re: Building armies without GW

Surely we can't bring up Mierce Miniatures without at least mentioning that the owner scurrilously took large sections of the gaming and hobby community for a horrendous money ride in which they all got screwed when he bailed out? m Forewarned is prepared. The guy screwed collectors once - if you w...

Also, I would like to add that if you know of any other useful models, please let me know and I will add them. The blog is still under construction, I am wo...

Re: Poll: What brought you to the hobby?

I got into (the painting and modelling aspect of) the hobby via a store and it wasn't even one in my own country. I was in Edinburgh, in the middle of the Fringe Fest, wanted to hide from the crowds for a moment and saw those tiny (and very cute) figures in the window of a Games Workshop store. I we...

This would be my vote. Just enough brass to draw the eye without looking off.

Re: Raging Heroes Kickstarter is open!

Exceptional looking models, with GW all over the place at the moment this is looking pretty attractive. 'attractive' indeed!! It also opens up the possibility to have an all female themed DE army. Would be a nice project! Definitely! I'm actually afraid we might not have much choice in the matter, ...

I would say go for it, but I'm probably biased as I usually prefer conversions to official models. They make the army more unique and eye-catching as well as often stressing a theme. Beastmasters breaking the Carnosaur might definitely look great.

Re: [PLOG] The Lost Colony

Thanks for the pictures. The pyre looks awesome (why haven't I thought of that?), but you're right about there not being much space and if the flag looks too empty, this doesn't fill it that much. But it makes the bird unmistakeably a phoenix and I like the design very much. Decisions, decisions... ...

Re: [PLOG] The Lost Colony

I would suggest to take the original one, on right, and just add one more flame between the three right bottom flames and the five right top flames. The additional flame needs not to be attached to the other flames, in the same style already used. It could be as long as the second from bottom. That...

Re: [PLOG] The Lost Colony

Comparing the two, the filled one seems more appropriate for a Grand Battle Banner. Furthermore, the flames are indispensable if you want the bird to be understood as a phoenix. Now, ultimately, that's your army, not mine. For the flames themselves, I like a lot how you did. Don't connect the inter...
