Re: [PLOG] Veysha Everkiss and the Clan of the Shadow Fox

A quick posting of additional Veysha fluff from December's story competition, just to keep all the fluff in one place. This one has a few 18+/R sections, so please be advised. Thanks to everyone that voted in a great competition! The lesson of Naggaroth It would be like her first dance. All over aga...

It also presents the 250 points/month target, but how rigid is this? How well does that represent the value of models? How many points is a Sorceress, for example? Are there any rules for this? If I just paint a Sorceress, is it a suitable candidate for a monthly poll and how is a level 2 sorc eval...

Re: [PLOG] Traitors of Ulthuan

Nice work - especially like the one with the corsair head; it has great presence with that wide, brutal looking crown. They're going to a superbly intimidating trio on the battlefield. (I was only kidding about the name before though!).

Re: Can units from one elf book take magic items from anothe

GW writers deserve dignity like any other human being. Furthermore, they have designed a game, WH, which works despite being extremely complex. Even if sometimes the wording is not perfect, it happens only for a very tiny minority of the articles. I personally have great respect for people able to ...

I'd first note the posts above and linked to are fantastically thorough, well written and well thought through. You're all way ahead of me in terms of knowing and applying the rules. I did, however, think this was a little strong; ...Alleged RAI is more powerful than RAW; there is high suspicion tha...

...There is also the example of Imrik, Prince of Caledor, who has the Star Lance and can only be fielded in two of the Elven Hosts. His entry specifically states that no other character may have the Star Lance if he is fielded in an army. This suggests that the intention was that Elven Hosts could ...

@Marchosias - thanks so much for the useful critique and comments. It was you that put me onto Battle Chronicler and inspired me to do a write up at all - so it's awesome to have your thoughts here! Live on GW's site now - the text is kind of unfortunate though... "The powers of all the Skaven clans in one Verminlord. Yours to command, but at what cost?" Errr... €71... You've written it right next to the question, guys. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7517/15995798198_04d633f69e_z.jpg ...

Re: Combined armies colour schemes?

@Wrathbaby - thanks for the brake fluid tip - that could prove very useful! Re: the IOB models, I completely agree that they're great models. The detail on the griffon is stunning, and the main hold up in converting the rider to a sorceress has been my constantly revisiting whether I should instead ...

Re: Combined armies colour schemes?

To your last point first, I own a handful of H*gh Elves by dis-virtue of the IOB box set. They live, unpainted, in terror. So far I've dipped into their prison just once, plucked out their Swordmaster champion and hacked off his hand. Their Prince is earmarked for a darker fate still; his legs are t...

Waystalker with Shield of Ptolos

As I plan my final 2,400 Autarii force for the mooted Druchii Invasion campaign, I'm looking at a Waystalker and see the Shield of Ptolos as an interesting way of forcing an opponent to dedicate proper resources to dealing with her. However, is it legal - I thought it said somewhere that you can onl...

Re: [PLOG] Veysha Everkiss and the Clan of the Shadow Fox

Thanks Rowena - I do love the interplay of gold, purple and indigo as colours, yet it does just seem a little extravagant. I don't think it works with Veysha's hard line economic outlook. As long as I can get enough contrast between blades and hilts using two tones of silver, that's the route we'll ...

Re: Daeron's Blues

The sheer impact of the striking scheme, consistency across volume and controlled execution is awesome. I couldn't quite visualise it from the first shot with the largely indigo unit and the finished example. Seeing them ranked up here is so powerful. Kudos for the control, keeping them all so unifo...

Lol - same here. Box on the side, four windows open on the iPad with other people's schemes for Wildwood Rangers. The purple/indigo is looking good so far, but the base coats are so dark that I'm wondering if the sections will blend a little too much together. Here's a quick snap from about the sixt...

But really....did Warhammer even have any romance other than Tyrion and Allarielle? I guess there might have been Ariel and Orion but they just killed them off. Not sure you'd call it "romance" per se, but there was Malekith/Morathi of course, for an edition or so, until they got all PC a...

Re: Next ET books

Thanks for sharing! Do you think part of the EndTimes trend towards bigger centre piece models is to do with painting skill. That giant Warpseer thing is impressive enough, and I'd love to be able to paint half as well, yet comparing it to the Ikit model above, it strikes me how much easier it is to...

@Thraundil - Oh, those were your Shades camped at the bottom of the garden. We were wondering who had sent them, that we might send a note by way of seasonal thanks. The assassins were rather poor eating, in all honesty, but their addition did at least bring some sport to the roundup. Very much appr...

Re: Two 2500pts lists - The Dark Carnival, and Morathi's Hos

Love the fluff on the Dark Carnival especially. My only note there would be how much fun a medusa/shrine could be within that as the "final act"... The curtain raising to reveal her horrific stare, villagers bleeding from the eyes, running to the exits into the nets/cages the Shades have s...
