What foreign countries have you visited?

Post by Kida »

I'm curious, where have you been to? Please, do write where are you from and how old are you (as this is a factor).

I'll start:

I'm 26 and from Croatia. I've never been outside Europe, but I've visited these countries:

-Austria (many times, been to Graz, Vienna and Salzburg)
-Germany (several times, been to Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munchen)
-Italy (dozens of times, been to Trieste, Venice, Verona and Padova, but sadly not yet to Rome. This will be rectified ASAP)
-Greece (once, to Athens, of course)
-Denmark (once, been in Kopenhagen)
-Sweden (once, been only in Malmo, haven't travelled more to north, but this also will be rectified, as I have relatives in Sweden)
-Czech Republic (once, been to Prague)
-Hungary (several times, visited several major cities)

...and, of course, I've been many times to several countries of ex-Yugoslavia, like Slovenia and Bosna and Herzegovina...

So, where have you been to?

I'm 20, and from the approximate area of Seattle, Washington, USA. I'll list the places I've stayed, not visited, otherwise the lists would be huge.

- Scotland: Edinburgh, Stirling, Argyllshire, St. Andrews, Fort Williams, Melrose, Perth, and a few other places my mind is blanking on
- England: London, Bath, Chippingcamden (s/p?)
- France: Paris
- Ireland: Dublin, Killkenny, Trim, Donegal, Glencolumkille, Derry, Galway
- Canada (yeah, big deal): Vancouver, Victoria
- Japan: Kyoto (going back to Japan next Spring)

Places I've been and "stayed" for a period of time:

Hong Kong
Singapore
Japan
Various US states (most of the western seaboard area)
England
Hawaii (since it's so far away, I'll count it as seperate for the list)

Places where I was just passing through, I have no idea. And I live in Australia, for the record.

I'm almost 22, from Finland and I've been to:

-Sweden (our beloved neighbour - Been to Stockholm and a few other places, going there again in a month or so)

-Denmark (beautiful Århus and Copenhagen)

-Morocco (Hot Agadir and Marracesh)

-Bulgaria (Sunnybeach)

-Russia (Viaborg and beautiful St.Petersburgh)

-Belgium (Gent and Brussels - a lot of people..)

-Greece (Rhodes - hot and beautiful island)

I've landed also to Bordeaux - France, but I guess that doesn't count..

But I have to say also that I've been in Finlands Lappland, which is a whole different place from rest of Finland. We were hiking there with a bunch of German people, and it was great fun - I felt like I'm not in Finland at all.

Wow. I'm sorely behind I guess. I'm 24 from the US' east coast. I've only been to Romania and Greece. I do hope to visit the UK at some point.

Hey! I am 32. Mexican

I have been to:
USA
Canada
Japan
China
Korea

Don't sound like much. But being so far away from everywhere, it's hard to go to different places.

For you people that live in Europe, It is easy to travel to many countries. It would be the equivalent of saying:

I have been to:
USA.- Illinois, Wisconsin, Washintong DC, Missouri, Tennessee, California, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Michigan and Nevada. (on different trips)
Canada.- British columbia, Ontario and Quebec.

I feel a little envious. I wish I could know more places like you.
My next trip will most likely be to Europe. I might catch up with some of you ;)

I'm 36 and have been to:
    the Netherlands (Terschelling)
    England (4 week cycle trip)
Scotland (3 times for some weeks each)
    Ireland (2 weeks)
    Austria (some weeks for skiing)
Czech Republic (Prague only, for a long weekend)
South Africa(2 times, three weeks each, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, East London, Capetown)
USSR (Moscow and Leningrad, now St. Petersburg)
    France (Paris for a weekend)

The following I have been to for a few days, single harbour, by courtesy of the navy:
    Denmark (Copenhagen)
    Norway (Trondheim)
    Netherlands (Den Helder)
Scotland (small harbour, forgot the name)
    England (London and Newcastle)
    Spain (Barcelona)
    Greece (Souda and Athens)
    Turkey (Istanbul)
    Bulgaria (Varna)

So apart from South Africa I have not been outside Europe. I wanted to visit the States, but this seems to become more unlikely since I do not want the US to have so many data on me.
If they were not sitting on our land, I would not spend a single bolt on the Asur.

Asia:
- Japan

Unfortunately I have missed out on Africa, but I hope to set that right recently soon. And that goes for Australia/NZ as well.
