At the moment mine are:

Hotel California
Sweet Home Alabama
Future Love Paradise

I'll think up some more when I'm not so tired.

BTW, could anyone tell me the name of and the band that sings the (rather new) song which keeps mentioning Sweet Home Alabama, "Smoking funny things" and plays the original riff from Sweet Home Alabama? Poor description I know, but I'd be very happy if someone somehow realises what I'm on about and can tell me its title.

Hmmm all time favorites have to be things like:

Deep Purple > Lazy, a 4,20 minutes long intro, what more could you want?

The Doors > Riders on the Storm

Black Sabbath > Paranoid + Iron Man

Iron Maiden > The Trooper + Transylvania + Iron Maiden

Led Zeppelin > Stairway to heaven + Black Dog

Metallica > Ride the lightning + For whom the bell tolls

Thin Lizzy > Whiskey in the jar

really got to stop now else I'll keep myself busy 'till tommorow morning hehe

I have a hard enough time narrowing down favorite groups/artists/composers let alone favorite songs...I can agree with some of the above, have never heard of alot of the above (my age might be showing), but would like to add Paganini's 24 Caprices, several pieces by Liszt, several overtures by Wagner, Tchaicovksky (sp?) Marche Slav, Black Sabbath Warning, Killing yourself to live, Spiral Architect, Zep's Dazed and Confused or Whole Lotta Love live ramblings as well as White Summer/Black Mountainside, Jeff Beck Scatterbrain and Big Block, Neil Young Powderfinger, Skynyrd Ballad of Curtis Lowe and Simple Man, Nilsson's You're Breaking My Heart, Jane's Addiction Ain't No Right, Procol Harum Conquistador, Hocus Pocus by Focus, the list goes on and on, I could list one hundred more and delve into jazz, metal, and punk, but then I would completely trash D.Net's bandwidth so I better stop here.
I've been to Middenheim,
I've been to Ulthuan,
I've been to Cathay too,
So what, so what
so what so what you boney little f***

A tough ask to be sure, but here is a sampling:

Buch Dich - Rammstein
Oh no Bruno - Nomeansno
Joyful Reunion - Nomeansno
The Trooper - Iron Maiden
Gung Ho (new version) - Anthrax
Nazi Punks F*** Off - Napalm Death
Refuse, Resist - Sepultura

That's just a few of them. It would take ages to write 'em all down.

OT - what's with all the J-music fans here? Orange Range? Mr' Children?

Can`t be bothered listing individual songs, but the bands I favour for painting, gaming etc. are - Old School Prog Rock a la Yes, Marillion, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Rush, Mahogony Rush etc., Heavy `70`s Rock a la Ted Nugent, Blue Oyster Cult, Sabbath, Purple, Led Zep etc., For inspired moments, I like - Zappa, Residents/Snakefinger, Devo, T.I.S.M., etc., And I`ll even give good ol` boys like Skynard and the Eagles a burl on occasion. Gotta love the original poser bands like Kiss and the mighty Dictators for a laugh and a sing along as well.

The real passionate love musically, is in fact `70`s/`80`s Australian Garage/Punk/Rock a la Saints, Radio Birdman, Lime Spiders, Screaming Tribesmen, Hitmen, Visitors, New Christs, Porcelein Bus, Decline of the Reptiles, Hellcats etc. etc. etc. I also like equally obscure stuff from the `States like MC5, Detroit Dogs, Deniz Tek Group, and the godfathers of Punk...Iggy Pop and the Stooges !

So that`s my odd eclectic playlist. What I spin really depends on mood and occasion. I played in local bands here in Oz for about twenty years between `80 and `99, so my influences are many and varied.

Nothin` like some cool moody shiz as a backdrop to an equally cool moody game of `hammer. 8)

Alright, I'm back with my song list. My list goes band first, and then songs. They go in no particular order either.

Dragonforce - Storming the Burning Fields - Once in a Lifetime - Revolution Deathsquad - Valley of the Damned - Through the Fire and Flames - Soliders of the Wasteland

Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train

Black Sabbath - War Pig - Evil Eye - Digital biatch

Rammstein - Amerika - Du Hast - Mann Gegen Mann (for the song, not the video clip you sick minds)

Iron Maiden - All of their songs. I'm a hardcore Maiden fan.

Disturbed - All of their songs, they're my favourite band. However, Inside the Fire - Liberate - Meaning of Life - Stricken; really stand out to me.

Nightwish - Wishmaster

Atticus

Too many to post really.
