Problems with the forum.

Post by Laina »

I didn't really know where to post this so I guess off topic will cover it.
When I access this forum it will log me out every 5 or 10 minutes that I am not being active on the computer. It also has an error when I try to post replies on the forum saying something along the lines of 'Invalid Session. Please resubmit the form.' This will happen once or twice before the reply actually gets through.
If anyone knows how to fix this that would be great!
Thanks!

I've had similar problems since I joined, although it can become worse or better at times.

Problem. If you stay idle and don't navigate for a while (10 or 15 min), the servor will de-log you. When you're un-logged, the invalid session means that you're not allowed to post anything.

Solution A. Open a second window on your browser, and every now and then, navigate to a new page.
That's quick: CTRL+A, CTRL+C.

Solution B. Copy all the "unread" topics. Paste in a Word document. If you become unlogged, then Word recalls where you were at.

Solution C. Only read online. When you need to type (more than a screen length), do it off-line, and when it is finished, re log.

D.net can become frustrating at times, when you type a long answer only to find yourself un-logged.
Experienced D.netters go into the habit of copying the whole answer befor submitting, just in case.

Maybe if you set your browser to remember your password?

Hmm thanks, I've ticked both the forum 'automatically log me in' and I've even set my browser to remember my password but for some reason neither work. I guess it's just a problem I'll have to deal with. Thanks for replying! :)

Try Google Chrome. I haven't tried it yet personally, but I've heard from knowledgeable people that it's the best browser yet.

Hmm, I've gotten it to work more steadily (don't know how) it's bearable now. Thanks for the replies everyone.
