Coming back to gaming...4 years later

Post by Anaryin »

Anyone from those times still around? :)

I came across my old models and a load of memories came back.. since I no longer have the community around to play full-fledged 2000pts WHF battles, I thought of giving them a new life in Mordheim warbands to play with some friends.

However, since 2006 I moved to a new country (NL) and I am baffled to find that Mordheim is discontinued.. :( But I *really* want to play so I have been looking for places and sales..to little or no avail though...

My question is then, does anyone still play Mordheim? How are the rules now? Were there any gamer-side innovations? I saw the warband here, likely will adopt it! Also, where would you advise me to look for stuff such as terrain? I know I can build it myself, but I don't even remember how to highlight models anymore.. :P

Cheers, and hope some old wolf is still around!

Oh yeah, still here :)

Mordheim is a kick-ass game, and I'm also sad to hardly see it around anymore.

The rules haven't changed much, but they're freely available on line in PDF formats. If you don't mind opening your purse a bit (a lot), there is absolutely gorgeous scenery available for sale at Tabletop world. If I had a stable Mordheim group I would love to get a tables worth of buildings, but it's gonna be something like 1,000 EUR.

Welcome back!

Welcome back! As far as Mordheim goes...she a dead horse. Not much going around here anyway. There is a serious resurgence with bloodbowl...though that won’t help you in the Netherlands.
Good luck tracking down war bands to punish.
All the best,

I still remember you, pardner! I was away from the hobby too for about two years. Welcome back.

I've heard rumours of Specialist Games getting some more love this summer, but as of yet it's not sure which of the games it will be. Fingers crossed.

Hi. AFAIK Mordheim rules hasn't been changed since the 2002 (or 3 ) rules review, so anything you remember is still valid. For online sources, try to start at http://boringmordheimforum.forumieren.com/ or http://www.sg.tacticalwargames.net/ .
