COK armour save

Post by Double-edge »

In the army book COK wear heavy armour, have a shield, hand weapon, and a lance. They get +2 for heavy armour, +1 for shield, and +2 for being on a Cold one. thats a 2+ save correct? well i was wondering, don't they get an extra +1 from the hand weapon plus shield combo? making it a 1+ save.

sorry if you all already know this, i'm still new and need clarification.

Nope. Only when you're in foot and there's no magic weapon or magic shield, this rule comes to effect.

It may be scary when you have a unit of goblins with light armour and shield; they get a 4+ armour save in hth combat, for what, 5'5 points? :)

Mounted models do not benefit from the additional +1 save for Hand Weapon and Shield in close combat as infantry do.

I confused this myself at first.
