Simple question that makes for a unclear suggestion as to the answer.
Power of darkness gives +1 strength, so does a mount get the bonus? Horse go st4 cold ones st5? Or it does not work?
What is the right answer and since I am having a debate with a fellow gamer please post your facts and evidence.

It should be very simple in the wording of the spell. Now, I dont remember it exactly and my armybook is at home, but. All other augment spells has the wording (example Wyssans wildform from lore of beasts): "The target unit gains +1 S and +1 T until the start of the casters next magic phase". That means you take every model in the unit, and add 1 S and 1 T to its characteristics table. That means if you target a cavalry unit, rider AND mount gain +1S and +1T.

The same goes for the bound spell from the cauldron btw.

I guess it's like the old Banner of Hag Graef, the whole unit got ASF, mounts and all.

"All models in the target unit have a +1 to their Strength characteristic...[snip]".

Since it's not stated otherwise it will affect all strength values of a target unit, so you'll even get S6 impact hits from the Cauldron or Shrine if applicable.
