Can Morathi join a unit?

Army book says Morathi's troop type is Monstrous Cavalry (Special Character) as she is riding Sulephet. Does this prevent her from joining an infantry unit such as Black Guard?

No it doesnt. What she doesn't gain from it though is the look out sir! rule.
