Devoted models

Post by Theo »

I apologise if this has already been asked, but I cant find it - What new models are there going to be for the CoS list? Are there gonna be devoted models, or a model for the annointed, or a new sorceress on slaanesh steed perhaps? I need to know if I should start converting some devoted yet :) if so does anyone know when they are gonna be released?

there will be no new models in it for us- if you're stuck on ideas for devoted, wait till the following monthly ;)
Count them:

Painted in 2013: 500
Painted in 2014: 600

I don't expect any models for devoted. Games Workshop put up a gallery with the new SoC models, and there are no Druchii present there. (And the site does say that it shows all the new models),

See http://stormofchaos.uk.games-workshop.c ... efault.htm for the gallery.

*hint* :P

If nothing changes radically, the next monthly will be quite SoC related and have some good SoC stuff in it. You'll just have to wait a little longer.

I'm using the old Mengil Manhides regiment of renown figs for mine (these are not the Chris Fitzpatrick sculpts)

bloody hell, those are so ugly :D but if you've painted them better than GW did in those days, it won't be too bad.

Yep! I most agree most of GW's sculpture from later in the history is darn UGLY!!! And they couldn't paint either!

TKFM, go back and edit your post instead of making a new one.

Like other people have said, I plan on using the Witch Elf models as mine. IMO, aside from a few Khainish runes (like the Standard) they look fairly Slaaneshi....Barely dressed she-elves...What could be more Slaaneshi than that?! ;)

You could always use Warhammer 40,000 Dark Eldar Wyches, Mandrakes (my preferred option) or possibly convert Sisters Repentia (I plan to convert some for Witch Elves someday).

Try visiting www.games-workshop.com and look in the Warhammer 40k section, under Dark Eldar and Witch Hunters.

Put the effort into looking for yourself and you might be surprised that the models are good for use as Devoted.

One idea (employed by AvatarofSlaanesh) is to use a mix of Wardancers and Witch Elves. Wardancers look a lot like male Witches, so it creates a nice feel of S&M type troops. You can just use your imagination for the Mistress ;).

A female Beastmaster would be an obvious Mistress, as she already has a whip :)

Or maybe Lelith Hesperax, if you could de-40K her a bit - very s&m.

Wyches go down pretty well. I have some myself, but converting them so they dont have guns would takje some time.

It might be a better idea to mail order them. That way, you can pick and choose the easiest models to convert.

Tough? I would have thought Expensive would have been the choice word. Since both are only sold in 10-Pack Metal Boxes at rather excessive prices....
