Your bitz box.

Post by Malachi »

Through some recent acquisitions of other people's bitz box and a fetish to buy models just for the joy of opening a blister, I have now come to realise that I have way too many of certian models.

I now currently posses 7 RBT's, that is almost enough to create a full fledges city guard list.........

I also have about 5 Malekith's!

I now also have enough slaanesh models(thanks Ragian) to create the COS army that I have wanted but then take it to that next level.

My bitz, excuse the image, are everywhere! I am now contemplating bying GW's new figure case to get everything in an order.

My question is that have any of you bought bitz boxes to expand your collections but also when was the last time you searched through your bitz box? Have a look and see what abnormalities there are.

Love to hear anyone's stories.

Cheers.

Uh... Many have been locked away because that kind of things, you know! :D

Well, I have always thought that I had a large bitz box but I guess I'm wrong then.. Thanks for slapping reality right to my face :)
I don't even have multiple Malekiths...
I do have very much bits, though, I haven't counted them or anything. I don't have any stats but I do know there are lots of vain models on my desk.. I have a separate room for WHFB and WH40k (20square metres) and it's full of those (from time to time) embarassing little figures
I guess I have something like 1000+few models ..

Haven't ever went throuhg my bitz box - and never will. I am planning to paint them all but that is never going to happen :) I'll try nevertheless!

I have 33 large multi-compartmental bitz boxes...

Apparently like Malachi, I have the bad habit of acquiring bitz to supplement the bitz I already have. For instance, I recently bought a large lot of loose Dark Elf bitz on eBay because I spotted an unreleased model hidden amongst the junk and then I had to place an order with GW to get enough extra bitz to make complete models out of the extra bitz. I may never actually do anything with them, but I'm rather compulsive when it comes to things being incomplete.

Yes, I too have multiple Reaper Bolt Throwers (from the 3rd, 4th & 6th editions) and multiple Malekiths...

I didn't realize so many people have huge bitz boxes... I thought mine was "large" and it's just all in the bottom half of a ~8" x 14" toolbox that rises up a few inches.

i'm pretty much in the same camp that pmpn8ez, with my financial condition the most bits i have are from plastic sets and what not. maybe one box half full of bits and models. usually i have to plan very carefully what i buy next, resulting in mathematics lessons going to waste when i just calculate variant lists that could be fast to collect, but still fun and effective to play :D

I have no bitz. But if any of you have an extra "2-leg crossbar" for the front of a 6th edition RBT, I would appreciate the opportunity to take it off your hands. Mine came unglued at some unknown time, and I can't seem to locate it.

I threw out most of my bitz box, and 10 pounds of metal and plastic. Lots and lots of GW pieces, and a bunch of non-GW stuff. I feel so much better now that I did it.

I got three different bits boxes two for Elfs and one for Chaos. All is systematicly in order, Spears, Weapons, Crossbows, Bannerrs etc. Moving from different places tend to fix these kinds of problems. If you have a fianceé it will defenatly improve your order as well.
This new order (not the band) has had some really interesting peaks, I have had such success with these new boxes that I have started to trade my bits that I don't use to get bits I defenatly need. And it's easy to find the right bit, perfect.

But of course i have some problems, I think I have 7 of the pointing Corsair Champion and 5 of the Black Guard Campion... And not to forget, 6 Morathis... ;)

If I can help it, I choose to leave my leftover bits on their sprues. That way I can locate them much more easily. Sure, it does take up more space, but whatever.
Count them:

Painted in 2013: 500
Painted in 2014: 600
Painted in 2015: 854

You'd have to do some planning ahead of time; usually I just build models and then stick extra things I like on afterwards, so you never know. I guess it could also being annoying having to search through all those sprues, but not much more so than through your entire bitz box. :x

I have a small tub half filled with bits from old sprews and one Militia box reserved for hasty Mordheim warband adjustments.
I do end up with the odd part I don't remember purchasing. I have enough for a couple of beastmen gors for some reason :?

It's a subliminal message... pretty soon, you may start growing horns until you buy enough beastmen for another army. That's about when your hooves start to become cloven.

I never throw away anything, so naturally I got a huge bitz box and a plastic bag full of all kinds of sprues. I tried to organize them into one box for each race some time ago, but now it's total chaos once more.
