Got an extra present in my spearhead..

Does anyone know how I would go about getting limbs and heads for a hydra? I received an extra torso bit in my box that I would like to put to good use. Did anyone else get extra bits they'd like to get rid of so I can put this puppy together? Maybe people that will be using or not using the stump head? Think if I call up GW I can get them to sell me the extra bits? Thanks!

Well they certainly wont sell you the extra bits until after the hydra's official independant release (ie. not the spearhead release). Just in case your fibbing to get new parts early even though i beleive you.

Is it the whole torso? with the legs and everything? I dont have a spearhead so i dont know what all the bits that make up the hydra look like. Perhaps you could stick the stump of a neck, model the other slots into severed heads and use it as a dead hydra for scenery

Some time, I will received some extra torso bit in some blister, for example , head\banner\weapon and so on...

If it is extra, so good. Because I can use it do some that I want.

they will not sell bits anymore, no more separate pieces to assemble it all. ;[

Just call GW and tell them that your spearhead came with a torso but none of the parts. Even offer to send back the spearhead or something to show that you're "honest" Of course, never tell them the torso in question is an extra bit.

Yeah Gensuke, I'm thinking you're right. I was hoping to avoid outright lying if at all possible, though I guess it would be fitting for me to do so. =]
I would rather not have to send the whole kit back, as that's a hassle, and was hoping that others may have a few bits here and there that I could swindle off of them.
And yes, the torso is a big piece with the tail, heads, and left legs missing.
Right now, I'm contemplating making it into a scenery bit with the headless neck attached...

Let me just say that let's not discuss cheating games workshop out of its profits. Be honest, try and trade for some heads or sculpt it. At the very least keep those comments of questionable legality to a minimum.

Wasn't there supposedly going to be extra heads available from GW direct order to let you do unique hydras or something? Otherwise, with everyone getting 7 heads per hydra, I'm sure you'll be able to scare up 5 extras.

The rumor I heard was the hydra came with one extra head.. (one head was a 'severed' head. So... decent chance you'll a lot of people with 1 extra head shortly... just keep asking around and offer some trades.

Don't cheat them, thats not cool.

GW see to often send extra stuff from mail order. from what i hear you can't order individual bits any more, but you used to be able to order the bodies of models and often you would get the legs free even though you didn't order them. you could also get horses when you ordered the rider. it was great!

as for not cheating GW, the people you speak to at mail order are normally really nice people and they will never cheat you. on the other hand the people that run GW will try and cheat you out of every penny they can...

Lying to a company in order to reap models that you A)Did not rightfully pay for and B) cheating a company that currently needs all the profits they can get to support hopefully new models.

Same as stealing in my opinion. Don't send it back but trade and/or bitz buy to finish it.

Azure: That is exactly what my original post was asking to do, trade for people who have extra bitz.

The Hydra kit comes with two tails and an extra neck, so I need four necks/heads, and the two right legs to complete a second model.

Anyone have any of those extra lying around? Anyone want to trade for/sell their extra head/neck that they have?

Just give Mail order a call. There are going to ask you for a batch number, it is located by the bar code usually. I know it is limited run but it will still have multiple batches. They will take that number down, then send you a hydra when the model is released. They won't ask you to send anything back.

I wouldnt want to steal from games workshop like that, without them none of this is possible so have some respect dont try to cheat them.

I once bought a set and was missing a bit and got it returned for a complete set, but i would never pretend there was bits missing so i could get more models. Im sure it wont cost you a lot to find the bits you need elsewhere, if you cant find them use it in a conversion.

You must be able to get the old hydra cheap on ebay as people replace them, use the legs and some heads of that?

Yes, but there was nothing missing from his spearhead in the first place. He got a bit extra which was not complete, its still a freebie, you cant go ask for more just because you want it.

gensuke, your idea may not be completely illegal but it's certainly lying in order to cheat a company out of its profits, which is borderline illegal.
@ ripper: I'm sure that you could find someone who owns a spearhead who would sell you full hydra heads, or maybe you could trade with someone. alternatively, you could ring up GW and ask if they mind sending 'round some bits for the hydra or something like that. and if all else fails, make a kickarse terrain piece out of it. but don't do anything illegal, that's just being an arsefacey.

My spearhead came with an extra cold one legs for the dreadlord on cold one, it doesnt fit correctly on it either like the other leg piece, weird stuff in those spearheads. O:
