Mark Leamon has posted yet another 14 logs with all Asur wins in a row. I don't think those are real, but what to do?
Besides, they are all posted at Wrath Gate, which should be closed by now.
6th Gate:
Players_Side=High Elves
Outcome=Won
Comments=Points: 3000 HE vs. 3000 DE.
Scenario: The High Elves must break through the Dark Elf army blocking
them to get off the Dark Elf player's board edge.
Aethran has embarked on a quest to rescue Prince Regulus, accompanied
as always by the Archmage Dalmar. Together with forces that Dalmar has
called from the White Tower, Aethran regrouped his force and set out for
his goal. It wasn't long before he encountered another enemy, Kelmarth,
a Druchii Highborn who had sworn to see the Asur Prince dead. Mounted
on his Black Dragon, Kelmarth challenged the Asur Prince, while the
Prince's army engaged their hated cousins all about. While the Archmage was
embroiled in a magical battle with the Dark Elven High Sorceress
Kalleia, Aethran and Kelmarth fought. Once more, Aethran's enchanted sword
proved the bane of the Black Dragon the Druchii rode, Bellerophon was
also gravely wounded. However, when the Highborn was on the ground, he
struck out at Aethran, striking the Prince with a near-mortal wound. As
the Prince reeled in his saddle, Bellerophon lashed out, tearing the head
from the Highborn's shoulders. Carrying his injured master, the dragon
moved to attack., Yet the Prince's troubles were not yet over.
Bellerophon was struck by a doombolt directed at him from a wand held by the
Druchii Noble, Arikath. Dalmar's quick action magically transported the
near-death dragon (It had lost all wounds, and Aethran was now on foot
with one wound remaining) to a place where it could recover (fluff
purposes), leaving Aethran on foot. The vengeful elf proceeded straight for
the chariot the Dark Elf rode, joining what was left of the
Swordmasters after their fierce battle with the Executioners. Arikath's chariot
was destroyed under him, and the Noble leaped into combat, where he was
promptly slain by Bladelord Gahennas. By now, all the Druchii forces
were running or dead. Aethran surveyed his own army, picked out the best
of the infantry and Ellyrion Reavers, and sent the rest back to Arnhelm
with Dalmar. Meanwhile, accompanied by a small force, he proceeded into
the land of Naggaroth.
Players_Side=High Elves
Outcome=Won
Comments=Points: 2000 HE vs. 3000 combined DE army (Rakarth leads 2000
points worth, Tullaris leads 1000 points worth).
Scenario: While Aethran begins his stealth campaign through Naggaroth,
he has somehow attracted the attention of the Beastlord Rakarth
himself. Alongside Tullaris of Har Ganeth, who has heard of this so-called
"Dragonslayer", as Aethran has become known, thanks to him defeating a
number of Black Dragons in previous battles, comes with his Executioners,
determined to defeat the Asur Prince. The scenario is a breakthrough,
where the Asur must reach the Druchii starting edge of the board.
Prince Aethran, without his dragon companion Bellerophon, has reverted
to the training he was given by the Swordmasters of Hoeth. Lifting his
elven greatsword for the first time in years, he is journeying towards
the place where Regulus remains imprisoned. However, with his new-found
title of Dragonslayer, given to him by the elves who follow his lead,
he attracted the attention of two very dangerous Dark Elves. The
Beastlord Rakarth, and Tullaris of Har Ganeth. These two fearsome foes quickly
embarked to kill the Asur Prince before he could break through, and
possibly kill any more of the Black Dragons.
The battle started when the Shadow Warriors conducted a swift strike,
their arrows penetrating Druchii armour and killing two Executioners.
Tullaris, noticing this, charged the elves of Nagarythe, who wisely fled
back into the shadows. Tullaris pursued, to no effect. Meanwhile,
Rakarth and Bracchus soared over the battlefield, charging into the flank of
the White Lions, whose position was the result of an oversight Aethran
had made. The Lions broke from combat, fleeing the spectacle of the
massive dragon looming over them. Rakarth, instead of chasing them down,
moved onward, towards the core of the force, where the Swordmasters
marched, Aethran among them. However, the Swordmaster's had something else
on their minds. Chiefly, the Executioners who were bearing down on
them. The chance to engage their presumed equal;s was overwhelming to the
Swordmasters, and with Aethran among them, they charged, their fine
elven greatswords whirling in the air as they met the Executioners in
combat.
Tullaris and Aethran finally came face to face. Aethran had slain four
of the Executioners himself, but upon seeing the deadly warrior before
him, Aethran calmly, in a single move, sheathed his greatsword and
unlimbered his magical shield. Trusting in the spark of Asuryan's flame he
wore about his neck, within a small amulet, he engaged the Executioner.
Aethran's first blows were probing, designed to discern any weaknesses
in Tullaris' defence. He found none, and was unable to penetrate the
armour of his opponent. Tullaris hit hard, his deadly axe slamming into
Aethran's shield repeatedly. But the magical flame gave strength to the
Asur Prince, and he withstood the blows. Then he struck back, hammering
home a series of blows that left Tullaris bleeding from a cut in his
side, where Aeathran had penetrated his armour. Tullaris, inflamed by
this High Elf's ability to hurt him, struck home with even more power, his
axe whirling in crazed arcs as he battered his way through Aethran's
defences. AS the High Elf reeled back, Tullaris was about to deliver a
killing blow, but the magic of the flame once more saved Aethran from
death. Then Aethran finally unleashed his full speed and skill, throwing
himself into a series of blows that sent Tullaris to his knees. The
Executioner looked at Aethran, hatred in his face. The elf swung his sword.
The head of Tullaris rolled in the dirt. With the loss of their leader,
the Executioners seemed stunned, and when the Swordmasters began to
inflict heavy wounds onto their number, aided by Aethran's rejoining the
combat, they died to the last man.
The rest of the fight was an effective rout. After seeing Prince
Aethran Dragonslayer defeat Tullaris, Rakarth began to re-eveluate the
chances of defeating this elf who seemed to have a death wish. Under the
elf's command, the Swordmasters threw themselves back into the combat,
relentlessly hacking their way through the Dark Elf Spearmen. Rakarth's
Cold One Knights, led by a Noble, had their mounts suffer from a bout of
stupidity, and ambled along, effectively ignoring the Swordmasters
bearing down on them. With Aethran striking down two of their number, one of
them the noble, and the Swordmasters accounting for the rest, Rakarth's
army, or what was left of it, left the battlefield, pondering how best
to defeat this Asur. Perhaps a night attack....
However, for Aethran, this was just the beginning, He had defeated his
foe, Tullaris, but his Swordmasters were depleted. He would need more
men. The lone mage, Amarath, who accompanied him, had some ideas for
bringing more through to aid Aethran, but the Prince ignored him, and has
pressed onwards, moving stealthily towards the place where the Asur
Prince Regulus remains trapped.
Whether or not there is already a rescue attempt underway doesn't
bother Aethran. No matter the cost, he will fulfill his vow.
